The area provides opportunities for fantastic outdoor adventure for everyone. From great climbing on The Roaches to cycling in the picturesque Manifold Valley and Tissington Trail, canoeing on Tittesworth Reservoir to walking in lovely Dovedale and horse hacking and trekking from Flash.
Visit the many places of interest the area has to offer; Eyam Hall and village,Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and Park Tissington Hall, Trentham Gardens, Alton Towers and many National Trust properties, Biddulph Grange Gardens, Haddon Hall.

Only 9 miles from Alton Towers.
The characterful market town of Leek lies at the heart of the Staffordshire Peak District. Steeped in history with links to William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement. Leek is a lovely town to explore. Don't miss the fantastic weekly markets held for more than 800 years. The unspoilt town centre is a refreshing change from modern shopping malls and has some unique speciality antique shops and you'll be able to explore huge Victorian mills, formerly silk mills but now housing antique centres and traditional and contemporary art galleries.
The lovely Rudyard Lake has been a favourite beauty spot for visiting families for over 200 years. The lake is surrounded by lush woodland with beautiful walks that take you around the lake which are quite gentle. The perfect spot for a picnic, some tranquil fishing, sailing, rowing boat hire, boat trips up the lake or a narrowguage steam train ride.
RSPB Coombes Valley Reserve is one of the best places for wildlife in the UK, in an SSSI. Just across the road from Ballfields Barn. Many birds come to our feeders and garden, greater spotted woodpeckers, nuthatches, blue-tits, great-tits, longtailed tits, chaffinches, wrens, robins, treecreepers, black birds, bull finches, jays and collared doves. And the ever present sparrowhawk, lovely but lethal. Buzzards mew overhead and beautiful barn owls fly silently over the fields. Foxes, badgers, hares, weasels and deer can be seen.
You can walk through delightful oak woodland, follow fascinating nature trails and sit and muse by the babbling Coombes brook.
Churnet Valley has a truly beautiful heritage railway deep in the heart of Staffordshire Moorlands enjoy a steam train ride between Cheddleton and Froghall, incorporating the splendour of Consall Forge and the Churnet Valley.
