35 Calle Larga is situated in the small village of Melegis in the stunning and much undiscovered Lecrin Valley; surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery in the background and citrus groves in the foreground, with a definite sensation of seclusion and privacy.

The house comprises of 4 bedrooms (2 double, 2 single), a dining area with table and chairs seating 6 people and a log fire.

The Costa Tropical/Granada region

The tropical coast is reached within 30 mins with the nearest beaches being at Motril and Salobrena, and others close by including Almunecar, La Herradura and Nerja.

There is an 18 hole golf course half way between Granada and the Lecrin Valley and a 9 hole course alongside the shore of Motril.

The resort of Sierra Nevada (Sol y Nieve) is one of the highest in Europe and provides a season beginning early December and lasting until May. The journey up to the snow takes about 45 mins on an excellent road and the facilities are well organised.

Granada has put in a bid to host the Winter Olympics in 2010. Sierra Nevada also caters for Sledging, Snowboarding, Sledge rides with Nordic dogs and Ice Skating - if you do not want to ski.

Lecrin / Melegis area

Melegis has two very good cafe/bar/restaurants. Los Noranges with terraces overlooking the lovely Beznar Lake and Azahares which hold barbecues every weekend during the Summer on their largest terrace. There is also a supermarket, bakery and tobacconist in the village.

Melegis is also the ideal location to pick upon dozens of beautiful walks through the valley and is a haven for bird watchers. The local town of Durcal offers a large supermarket, cafes and general stores and is approximately 15 mins drive away. An outdoor market is held there every Wednesday where fresh local produce can be bought for next to nothing.

Whether your interest is walking, bird watching, painting, golfing, history, skiing, horse riding, going to the beach or just relaxing - this is the place to be!

How to get there

Cheap flights can be obtained through the usual airlines i.e. Ryanair, BMI Baby and Easy Jet. The nearest airport Granada is approx 30 mins drive away.

Malaga is approx 1 hour 45 mins away. A hire car is advisable but not essential, directions will be forwarded on booking. An alternative to a hire car is the bus service from Granada airport into Granada City where daytime arrivals can connect to buses which travel to Melegis on a regular basis.

There is a regular bus service through the Lecrin Valley giving access to Durcal (the local market town) and Granada several times a day. Our key holders may also be able to collect you from the airport and return you there at the end of your stay.

Ground floor outside area with seating, comfortable living area with TV, DVD and VHS player. The kitchen has a 4 ring gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, pots, pans, glasses, cutlery and crockery.

The Utility on 2nd floor has a washing machine and hanging lines outside the window. Iron and ironing board are on the ground floor.

Bathroom on 1st floor is with wc, basin, bath and over shower.

Please note, this house is non-smoking and smokers should use the outside ground floor area. A cot can be made available upon request.
