Beautifully restored and maintained villa with spacious accommodation, our home from home with every amenity. Located in Contrada Canuta, 5 minutes walk from an unspoilt beach, between the seaside villages of Casalabate and Lendinuso. Close to Lecce, the Florence of the South.
This is a perfect place from which to tour the Salento region of simply to rest and relax. The rear courtyard is a secluded sun trap with ample garden furniture and BBQ, solar garden lighting and there are fruit trees from which you can help yourself!
There is also a large roof terrace, complete with gazebo, providing further outdoor living space and sea views. Smoking outside only please!
A welcome basket including local and fresh produce is included. We provide a shopping service to stock up before you arrive and also a home frozen dinners service, both on request.

Lecce / Contrada Canuta area
Villa Gavi is within 5 minutes walking distance from small sandy un-commercialised beaches. There are more small beaches as you travel north and south from Lendinuso. Campo di Mare, Bar Benny Lido, Sun Beach and Exotic beach have beach bars / restaurant sand sun loungers etc available for hire during the season.
Campo di Mare has 5 sheltered protected bays with shallow waters and sandy beaches, ideal for small children. Torre Chianca is approximately 15 minutes drive south from Lendinuso and has a very nice beach, very popular with Italian holiday makers.
How to get there
RyanAir from Stansted to Brindisi (nearest airport) or Bari. British Airways from Gatwick to Bari April to October, Al Italia/My Air/ Easy Jet via Rome or Milan, British Airways from Gatwick to Naples. Other airlines fly to Brindisi/Bari from Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt and Amsterdam
Brindisi is 30 minutes drive from Villa Gavi, Bari is 90 minutes and Naples approximately 3 and half hours.
Car hire is recommended.

Further details indoors: Both bedrooms are beautifully set out. The main bedroom, with large double bed, benefits from a patio door opening out onto the rear verandah and patios, with sunshine views of fruit trees. The second bedroom has twin beds (or one double on request), a third single bed is available on request. An additional double sofa-bed is available in the TV/reading room.
Gleaming white bathroom, well fitted, complete with full size bathtub, shower over bath.
In true Italian style the kitchen is the heart of the house. Newly furbished and well equipped, the kitchen opens out onto a nice seating/relaxation area. Fridge/freezer, microwave, cooker, hob, and all the kitchen equipment needed to prepare an Italian lunch or dinner!
Utility Room : Washing Machine, sink etc.
Living Rooms: There are three separate living areas. The kitchen opens out onto the main seating / relaxing area, with patio doors to the rear verandah/courtyard. This living area opens out via an archway to a further seating / dining area. There is also a separate TV / reading room. We provide a selection of English books and DVDs with many more available on request.
All the rooms have been elegantly decorated and beautifully maintained. This is truly a second home, a home from home.
All linen and towels (including beach towels) are provided and changed weekly. Home cooked freezer meals, or freshly cooked and delivered to the villa, available on request.
Further details outdoors: Truly a haven, the rear courtyard is surrounded by high walls, making it a private peaceful sun trap. Ample garden furniture is provided including BBQ, swing seat, patio chairs and table.
The courtyard is planted out with fruit trees and shrubs. Upstairs on the roof terrace there is a gazebo, providing another peaceful location for sun-bathing, reading, lunch etc.

Typical Puglian meals available, for the freezer, or freshly cooked and delivered to you, available on request 25% deposit required to secure your booking with the balance payable 12 weeks before holiday start date.
£250 security deposit payable in advance, we will accept UK cheques / wire transfers, which will be refunded to you after your holiday. Alternatively the security deposit can be paid by/refunded to your credit card.

..... the local produce is excellent and difficult to avoid 3rd portions! Casalabata Pesceria highly recommended, as is the Sunday market. Masseria was fantastic quality and value.
Would recommend visiting Otranto, Castro and San Cesario - 45 minutes drive down the coast. Brilliant seafront restaurant at Otranto. In that area the best beach is just north of Otranto - 2 miles before Club Med.
We have been blessed with sunny hot weather every day after a big storm on our first day, so we have been going to the lovely quiet beach every day and having lots of swims. We thought Lecce was lovely and also took a trip to Ostuni and Alberobello and say all the little truly which are so pretty. We ate in some nice little places and did 2 good BBQs.
We have enjoyed fine wine, fine food and excellent weather ..... we have left our footprints in the sand so that we will return.

From Santa Maria di Leuca to Ostuni via Otranto, Gallipoli and Lecce, we have had a fabulous trip seeing all these place ..... With fab weather (in October) hot enough to sunbathe ....
