About the home

Villa Sun is on Contrada Canuta, a quiet laneway, 5 minutes walk from an unspoilt, uncommercialised beach and 10 minutes walk from Lendinuso, a typical Puglian holiday village.
Nearby there are more commercial beaches with sun loungers etc. available.
It is a seaside Villa with secluded walled gardens and beautiful newly built private swimming pool.

This Villa is eliminating its carbon footprint due to the photovoltaic cell installation on the roof, thereby turning the suns energy into electricity, feeding into the national grid to help eliminate pollution and reduce the requirement of fossil fuel consumption for your holidays.

There are several beaches within walking distance, the nearest is 5 minutes walk away and is completely uncommercialised. Other beaches nearby include the Bar Benny Lido, Exotic Lido and Sun Beach - sun loungers and sun umbrellas can be hired at all these beaches in the high season.

Inland is the attractive small town of Torchiarolo, 5 minutes drive or nice cycle ride through the olive groves.

The local coastal road provides excellent access to the lovely Salentine peninsula to the south and to the autostrada for easy access to other places of interest in Puglia and Basilicata.

Villa Sun Beach is furnished and newly equipped to a very high standard. The kitchen is fully fitted and has every facility and an oak dining table and chairs. The living room is complete with leather sofas and solid wooden rocking chairs and has an open Leccesse stone fireplace.. A large fully tiled bathroom with shower. There are 2 good-sized double bedrooms with superking beds and floor to ceiling wardrobes. The third bedroom has a bunk bed/wardrobe unit and a third slide out single bed with full depth mattress.

Further details outdoors:
Private swimming pool, surrounded by sun terraces complete with timber sun loungers, garden furniture and situated in the secluded walled gardens. The 2nd bathroom is newly built on the pool terrace and has shower sink and toilet facilities.

Outside you will also find a covered verandah/ porch and a tree-shaded patio area. The garden has ample night lighting and there is an abundant fruit orchard from which you can help yourself! .

25% deposit required to secure your booking with the balance payable 12 weeks before holiday start date. £300 OR €400 refundable security deposit payable.. this is returned following a satisfactory check out. A welcome basket, all bed linen, and also hand, shower and pool towels are included in the rental rates.
Apart from any special requests, there are NO extra charges.

The Puglia/Molise region

Villa Sun is ideally situated to explore the whole region of Puglia. Close to Lecce, the Florence of the South, and to the Port of Brindisi, head north and inland for the historic centres of Ostuni (the White City), Martina Franca, Cisternino, Ceglie and others all within an easy drive. Further north (about an hours drive) you will find Fasano Zoo Safari and Alberobello, home of the Trulli, Castel del Monte and Castellana Grotto. Head south for the port of Otranto, Santa Maria di Leuca on the tip of the boot where the Adriatic meets the Ionian. South west for Gallipoli and and many other beautiful towns/cities and beaches. There is no shortage of things to do and see, or you could simply relax by the pool or on the beach!

If you are looking for sunshine, peace and quiet, rest and relaxation, local life, local culture, great food and wine, history and the warmth of the local Italians you have found your holiday destination and your holiday villa!

The Lecce / Contrada Canuta area

Villa Sun is within 5 minutes walking distance from small sandy uncommercialised beaches. There are more small beaches as you travel north and south from Lendinuso. Campo di Mare, Bar Benny Lido, Sun Beach and Exotic beach have beach bars / restaurant sand sun loungers etc available for hire during the season. Campo di Mare has 5 sheltered protected bays with shallow waters and sandy beaches, ideal for small children. Torre Chianca is approximately 15 minutes drive south from Lendinuso and has a very nice beach, very popular with Italian holiday makers.

Also within walking distance is Bar Benny, a restaurant/pizzeria with dancing, karaoke etc during the season, the restaurant is open all the year round. During the season there are other pizzerias, bars and gelaterias in Lendinsuo itself. There is also a small, but excellent bakery and pasticceria, (open all the year round) a butchers, small supermarket (both seasonal). In the season there is also a small street market along the seafront on most evenings.

There are nice restaurants in Casalabate (5 minutes drive) and a great market, a nightclub-bar in Campo di Mare (10 minutes drive) and of course Lecce, with it's historic centre and baroque architecture, within 20 minutes drive.

Torchiarolo is the nearest town with supermarkets, post office, bank, bars, pizzerias, gelateria, hairdressers etc. Within twenty minutes drive there are three hyper-market shopping centres, IperCoop, Conad and Auchan

Flights : RyanAir from Stansted to Brindisi (nearest airport) or Bari. British Airways from Gatwick to Bari April to October, Al Italia/My Air/ Easy Jet via Rome or Milan, British Airways from Gatwick to Naples.

Brindisi is 25 minutes drive from Villa Sun, Bari is 90 minutes and Naples approximately 3 and half hours.

“Wish we were still there!” We had a fantastic time at Villa Sun Beach and the owners, Richard and Noirin, could not have been more helpful and welcoming if they tried. The welcome basket of food was perfect and got the holiday off to a great start. The villa was immicualtely presented and the garden was so, so lovely. Because we went end of May the pool was a little on the chilly side but the kids did not seem to mind (aged 5yrs and 18months) and it was used every day. Richard came and cleaned the pool regularly, too. We loved helping ourselves to fresh fruit from the trees in the garden and the children loved lizard and gecko spotting, too. We travelled with my husbands parents which was a godsend making sure our toddler remained safe around the pool. It was nice for us that the pool wasn't gated as it allowed our other son the freedom to get in and out of the pool independently though of course this is something you need to consider when travelling with little ones. The local area was definitely the 'real Italy' - certainly not jazzed up and beautified like, say, Tuscany might be. We loved the local market in Casalabate for the wonderful atmosphere and fresh foods and its 'realness'. The flipside of going somewhere so underdeveloped is that some areas are not well looked after in terms of rubbish. It made us a little sad at times that the locals perhaps didn't care for their environment as much as we do here in the UK (never thought I'd hear myself say that!). So you need to be prepared for that when visiting this part of Puglia. However, the local towns - Otranto, Lecce and Agaya in particular - were beautiful and clean. And of course, the Villa with its walled garden were idyllic. We would definitely recommend Villa Sun Beach to friends and family.

“Best holiday in years.” We booked this holiday knowing nothing about the area or indeed about Puglia. The villa has a fantastic website with all manner of information and photos, so you have a pretty good idea of what to expect before you arrive. We were greeted at the villa by the owners Richard & Noireen who helped us settle in and were very informative about places to visit and eat out. Most of our days were spent by the pool or on the beach (5min walk) so we probably didn't do as much exploring as we would of liked to. The places we did visit were great, especially Lecce (better at night), and the locals were extremely friendly and the restaurants served great food at reasonable prices. We had two teenage girls with us who fell in love with the place and the boys. Every evening they would go into Lendinuso to meet up with the friends they had met. At no time did we have to worry about them as the whole area is very family oriantated. We booked the villa for two weeks next year before we came home and I would thoroughly recommend to any family or group thinking about taking a holiday in this area.
