The Puglia/Molise region
With blue skies, turquoise seas, great food, and reasonably priced but fantastic wines Puglia makes a wonderful holiday destination.
Popular with Italian holiday makers for years the region is only just being discovered by foreign tourists.
Fortunately this allows for a glimpse into a traditional Italian way of life that is both authentic and enjoyable

Historical sites in the town include the impressive 14th Century castle, the Arco Luchetti and several interesting churches.
A short drive away are the beautiful coastal towns of Otranto and Gallipoli. Venturing a little further you can discover the delightful hilltop towns of Ostuni, Cisternino and Locorotondo or the UNESCO world heritage site of Alberobello - home of the trullo

"One of the best houses one could find in Puglia"
A truly lovely house (I guess it's a 17th-18th century building) with a view on the medieval castle from the rooftop. The interiors are simple yet very cosy and done with a superb taste. Special … More

"Comfortable spacious and relaxing house in a charming town"
I stayed with my partner in the first two weeks of July. The house is spacious, elegant and tastefully decorated with a mixture of modern and traditional features. The bedroom is downstairs and there is plenty of room for clothing etc with an adjoining anteroom. There is also a bathroom off the bedroom and a small utility room. Upstairs is the lounge/kitchen which would comfortably accommodate four and another bathroom. The kitchen is well supplied and there is a hob and toaster (but no oven). Another flight of stairs takes you to the roof terrace with ample lounge style seating and extra space for sun loungers.
The town is beautiful, well located between the two coastlines and has an astonishing array of cafes and restaurants for all budgets. Try the pastries in the Greek cafe and the seafood in 400. The town has a train station which is useful for car free trips e.g to lecce.
Highly recommended for couples and friends but perhaps not for anyone who would find stone staircases a problem.
