Beautiful views from all rooms in the house and cottage. Perfect for families with children, or bikers, hikers and horse-back riders. Not a rental property, our summer home. The Normandy / Calvados region
Rolling hills, woods, farmland and horse-raising country, the Pays d'Auge is also known for its gastronomy. Based on creme cows, and apples from which Calvados is made. Historic sites include Roman ruins, chateaux and churches from medieval times onwards to the World War II memorials and beaches.
Lecaude area
Classical music festival in the summer, Falaise medieval chateau, Coupesarte manor with a moat, lovely gardens of Canon, half hour to the unspoilt seaside village of Houlgate. Outdoor markets, 10 minute drive to St Julien le Faucon, a charming village where all the basic necessities are to be found.
How to get there
If you drive to the eurotunnel, we are just over a beautiful 3hr drive from Calais. We're a 40-minute drive from the Caen ferry. If you book a low-cost fligh tor eurostar to Paris, access by train is very easy -- several trains run daily to Lisieux.
