The Basse-Normandie region
Normandy simply did not change since the 23rd of June 911... lots of traditions, good food, sceneries and old stones.
It never rains, we only have liquid sun...
Normandy offers a gorgeous and varied countryside, referred to as le bocage, and a mild climate, a little warmer than that of the south of England.
Le Vieux Port
A fair amount of romantic restaurants, tiny shops, museums wait for you, lost in the narrow streets where each and every house is a quiet witness of History. Should you feel attracted by legends and History, grab a lantern and take part to a night guided tour which will transport you back to medieval times...
Caen is only 40 minutes away and offers a beautiful historical centre offering houses made of white stones and unique monuments as well as a large pedestrian area full of refined shops.
The largest military landing in history took place in Normandy June 6, 1944. Museums, monuments, bunkers and cemeteries are a lasting tribute to the Battle of Normandy, a unique experience and a must see.

"Last minute trip to France"
Great apartment , perfect location. Really clean and well equipped with plenty of free parking opportunity at the right time of day. The boys thought the sofa bed was the comfiest they'd slept in! Really helpful housekeeper and lots of good local recommendations. Shower was a little unpredictable but that's the only downside we found with the place

"On the doorstop of the town"
We stayed in the Red Flat in September 2012. We have stayed near Honfleur in the past but had to travel in every day. We promised ourselves a return trip and this was it. The flat is just off the main street of the town square with shops cafes and all the places you can and would want to eat at. We stayed in the top flat of the 3 that is in this building. The stairs are a bit steep going up to the flat but take a deep breath and you will get there. Everything you could want is in the kitchen attached to the small living room and dining area all combined. There isn't a washing machine or tumble dryer but there is a launderette spitting distance from the front door that is really cheap to use and the lady who runs it speaks great English because my French is nil. The only thing I would say is that the bathroom could do with an upgrade as it was a bit tatty around the doorway of it with some black mold that could have done with being scrubbed off. Use of the Wi-Fi is a bit hit and miss as the signal floats in and out.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We plugged a WIFI repeater on the 1st floor so that the connexion is now working permanently in all spots of the house. Regarding the bathroom, it has been upgraded according to your suggestion, plus it has been fitted with a larger and more convenient access door to the shower. We hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, Annette, Steve

"Rooms too dark..excellent location"
We stayed in the ground floor apt, and we found it too dark, the bedroom was too dark and have a kind of extension for the bathroom, I found the whole place very dark for a bright summers day outside. The shower was all wooden and which would have preferred was tiled as against wooden, and was not too happy with the old 3 pane shower door which was extremely difficutl to close. Having looked at the other apts they seemed brighter, and maybe that is why all the good comments... Having said that. the location was second to none, and in the dead centre of everything. Honfleur was spectacular and I found Annette to be lovely.
Thank you for your constructive feedback. In protected historic areas such as medieval towns drilling holes or modifying windows is forbidden by law. Be it said, the sunroof topping the en-suite bathroom will has meanwhile be cleaned by a professional so that sun comes through when the weather allows. Kind regards, Annette, Steve

Having stayed at another of the owners properties in Honfleur we had high expectations and we were not disappointed! Well equiped as always the location was fantastic - 5 minutes from everywhere but in a quiet street. Parking was available right outside and free, which was a real bonus. The property itself was a good size for us (couple), the body jet double shower a nice extra. We must also say thank you to Steve and Annette for being so helpful after our 'eventful' drive over! We will definately stay there again.

"Great Location Warm welcome"
Honfleur is a fantastic place to relax and provides a good base for exploration of the Normandy coast. Welcome was first rate with some great tips on what to see in, and around, Honfleur including a useful restaurant guide. The apartment was clean and close to the center of the town but not affected by any late night noise. You were at the lovely harbour within 2 minute walk as advertised. Parking was generally available in the road outside, if not, parked on free car park behind nearby church ( Top tip from Annette) The WiFi was free but signal strengh low, could only really browse if sat on the stairs.

"We love Annette and loved Honfleur, but the accommodations were just adverage."
Honfleur was wonderful and the flat was centrally located, but lacked in comfort. Annette was very helpful. Finding the flat was difficult. Parking was not too bad. Bed was not comfortable, bathroom facilities were fine. Kitchen was ok.
Thank you for your constructive feedback, beds will be checked and new beds will be ordered ASAP. Please note that we now have a closed parking box. Kind regards, Steve, Annette.

Honfleur is a chaming and consistently picturesque town, wherever you wander through its cobbled streets. And Maison de Lisa is the perfect base to explore this treasure. The flat was clean, warm and comfortable, with unlimited hot water, a practical kitchen and internet access. Annette was welcoming and accommodating. We were within a short walk of a wonderful range of things to see - the old harbour, the ships going through the lock, museums, churches, the art gallery, the well-stocked butterfly house, the beach, and a fine view over the whole of the town. And it's close to the mundane necessities too - supermarkets, the post office, tourist office and bus station. We loved it!
