La Guetterie is a 17 th Century farm set in 3 ½ acres of land including a lake, orchard and garden. The property is set off the road and has been landscaped with trees so you have complete seclusion for your holiday. It is the ideal setting for a family holiday offering privacy close to the chateaux.
La Ferme de Saule (the original farmhouse), stables and barns are set to one side of the land while La Maison d’Arbre overlooks the lake. We are situated ½ way between Le Mans and Tours . As a result we are perfectly placed for attending the various events at Le Mans or visiting the Chateau at Tours.
There is a large grassed area perfect for a game of boules, football or anything else you might like to organise. With three and a half acres there is always plenty of space to do what you want! If you want to explore the local area just minutes away is le Loir, a beautiful river running through undisturbed countryside.

The Loire Valley / Sarthe region
Chateaux, racing, fishing, boating, wine tasting all is on offer in the surrounding area of Le Guetterie!
Loire Valley is well known for it’s chateaux. There are a number of chateaux just minutes from the property, with many others along the length of the valley. Chambord , Chenonceau, Chevernay and Azay-le-rideau to name a few are all easily accessible from the property.
If you would like to partake in some wine tasting there are an abundance of vineyards in this area.
For fishermen Le Loir offers both fishing and boating. This river runs just behind the fields of the property. Of course La Loire is the larger river in the region. This river runs just south of the property.
If you or the kids fancy trying something a little more hair-raising, Futuroscope is located in Poitiers . This amusement park is dedicated to film, special effects and audiovisual techniques.
Le Lude area
Just mentioning “Le Mans” is enough to prick up the ears of any motor racing enthusiast, so the opportunity to re-live past glories and view cars dating from 1923 to 1979 racing again on the famous Le Mans circuit is one not to be missed.
In 2008 7.000 classic cars and more than 80,000 enthusiasts descended upon Le Mans to witness 400 competing cars, all of which had participated in the 24 hours of Le Mans between 1923 and 1979.
Le Mans is also the home town of the 24hrs race- an endurance race like no other and with approximately 250,000 attendees. It is one of the biggest sporting events in the world. The 24 hrs race takes place every year in the middle of June

Further details indoors: La Ferme de Saule is an 17th century farmhouse which has been tastefully renovated retaining many original features and beautifully furnished to provide comfortable and spacious accommodation. Situated in the heart of the picturesque Loire valley. La Ferme de Saule can be booked separately or with Maison d’ arbe as one booking to accommodate 2 families or parties of 10-12 people.
The property comprises of an open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area, 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom (2 single beds) and 2 bathrooms both include separate showers (1 being an en-suite to master bedroom).
The lounge area is complete with a log burning stove and stairs rising to a mezzanine providing a double bed settee for additional sleeping.
The property has its on private gardens to include an orchard and communal land with a fully stocked lake.

What a truly beautiful place.we have all enjoyed our stay, thanks to Linda,Scott and David no doubt we will be back Calum is already planning the fishing for next year and Rory and his paintings.

Arrived on the 11th July and the weeks have flown by. Beautiful location, fishing fantastic, Michael Jnr caught a 15lb common carp. Wonderful peaceful holiday back next year. Scott’s been a fantastic host. Try the volcano in la lude for a fantastic meal.
