Le Gicq is a small village, situated at the heart of the Saintes, Cognac and La Rochelle triangle, which boasts its own unique microclimate, making this the perfect location for your French vacation.
Le Gicq Holidays was awarded a 3 star rating in 2005,and its superbly restored 17th century farmhouse and gites are located in the centre of this quiet and typically french village.

Recently restored to the highest standard and awarded 3 stars by the French tourist board. Le Bluet gite is spacious accommodation for 6 people.

3 Luxuriously appointed double bedrooms, 2 with garden and pool views.

The gites are set in a large garden with private entrance.There is a 12 X 5 Metre heated swimming pool, and a 8 person hot tub, 12 loungers and seating on the patio, children's play area,with toys for younger children and a swing. Adult size Tampoline. Each gite has its own garden furniture and barbecue.

Ancient Saintes:

With it's Roman ruins,Saintes is also on the Charente river, and a river excursion is a wonderful way of spending the afternoon.


The ancient port of La Rochelle:

With boat trips round Fort Boyard to the Isle D'Aix and the Isle de Re

The Le Gicq area

The nearest town of St Jean d'Angely is a very old and historical town, with the beautiful Butonne river running through. There are many wonderful restaurants, parks and historic sites to see.

We are in the Charente Maritime region of France in the village of Le Gicq, 30 mins North of Cognac and 20 mins East of St Jean d'Angely.

By Car

- Roads and Ferries / Tunnel Route Planner Simply enter your starting point and enter Le Gicq as the "City" in France. Additional information: Follow A10 motorway South to Junction 34. Exit Junction 34 signed St Jean D'Angely. Our village is about 30 mins from the junction. Crossing the Channel we recommend: Seaview Cheap4Ferries Caen, Cherbourg and St Malo are the nearest French ports for driving here, but others may be more attractive because of price, crossing time or nearness to your home.
By Air

Ryanair flies daily from London Stansted to Poitiers Airport (75 mins away) and La Rochelle (60 mins away) Flybe flies daily from Birmingham and Southampton to La Rochelle (60 mins away). All the major car rental firms operate from these airports: Avis, Budget, National, Europcar and Hertz By Rail The nearest mainline stations to us are Poitiers (75 mins away), Angouleme (50 mins away) and La Rochelle (60 mins away). Car hire is available from all major rail stations: Hertz, Avis, Budget, Europcar, National.

“Host made me feel very welcome” I had my holiday in July 2012, the accomadation was first class, all the equipment (washing machine etc) was provided, the hot tub and swimming pool were excellent and the garden was beautiful. Linda... more

“Excellent hosts” Booked a weeks vacation at Le Bluet gites 13.07.12 for my family and my parents, the gite was lovely and spacious and i could quite happily say was excellent value for money, the hosts, Linda and Maurice Long were on hand to give advice and information of places of interest to explore, they even took us out for the day to a local distillery as it was quite hard to find on our map! They recomended different restaraunts in the area and booked tables for us that we had chosen and gave us thorough directions to get them,In the afternoons that we chose to relax in the gite we had the use of a magnificent pool and in the evenings we spent many hours in the hot tub! On our last evening Linda and Maurice arranged a meal for us and the other family, of "Mules and frittes" which was excellent, nothing was too much trouble for these lovely hosts, the area was beautiful and the hosts were brilliant, have already booked for 2013, thanks Linda and Maurice xxx
