Situated between the Ardeche and the Ceze valley, La Tourelle sits in a tiny quaint French village 30 minutes west of Avignon. If you're tempted by the thought of relaxing on the private terrace, wine in hand with the bbq cooking away, then this is just for you.
The detached stone house stands in the edge of the village in 900 square metres of private gated grounds. It has its own 10 x 4 metre pool and tranquil views out over the village and the valley. It has 2 large double bedrooms-one with en suite. The third bedroom has 2 sets of bunk beds and there is also a separate main bathroom. Downstairs is all open plan with a comfy seating area and a big table and chairs. La Tourelle was built in 2009 and benefits from bright, fresh modern interiors and a spacious fully functional kitchen.
The area itself is beautiful. For the more active there's forest and hill top walks with stunning views, caves to explore, river fishing and the Ardeche itself is famous for canoeing - it's an adventurer's paradise. There are local markets, medieval towns and villages to explore, wine tasting around the Cote du Rhone and the Pont du Gard is ideal for a day of sunbathing, swimming and picnics.
There are plenty of lovely places to eat out in the surrounding towns and the cheese platters are world class! The local wine's not bad either and extremely reasonable!
It's ideal for all; couples, groups of friends and for the families the place is fully secure. It has stair gates if needed, travel cot, security fencing around the pool and a kids play area.

All shopping can be done in the pretty market town of 'Pont Saint Esprit' 15 kms away, or in one of the pretty medieval villages of the River Cèze valley such as 'Goudargues' (10 kms) la 'Venise Gardoise', its canal, bordered with plane trees and choice of riverside restaurants . "A modern clean villa"
Very pleased with the modern clean villa, in a beautiful area of France. The villa while being modern is built to a traditional style blending in with the village. The overall layout is excellent with open plan ground floor and good size bedrooms.

"A great House in an away from it all relaxing location"
From the start we had a good feeling about La Tourelle, Rob had been exceedingly approachable and helpful through the booking process. On arrival the house just reinforced these good feeling, its open plan lay-out with the doors opening on to the terrace make it bright and airy and meant that every meal of the day was taken outside. With the weather in the high 30c degrees the pool was clean, cool and very welcome (I've never know my wife to swim as much). The village of Le Garn is peaceful and sleepy (if you get to see the neighbors you'll get a friendly wave) and surrounding hills and woods have some great not to strenuous walking. With a couple of reasonable size towns within 15 miles for the bulk supermarket shopping and local shops and restaurants in the adjacent villages, whilst feeling away from it all its not that far back to get the essentials. Of course we did a bit of sightseeing, Mont Ventoux and the view from the top is a must, the drive up is not for the faint of heart. Orange was a great discovery with its side street cafes and Roman amphitheater. All this meant that we could relax, take time out and get to know each other again, what a great family holiday,

"Quiet, relaxing family holiday in fabulous accomodation"
This was just the sort of holiday we like, quiet, undisturbed and relaxing, just spending time as a family. 'La Tourelle' was clean and modern with everything we needed. It's location was within reach of our favourite activities and places in the Gard region - canoeing, river beaches, Goudargues, Uzes to name a few. We love this region and certainly hope to return in the future, we would highly recommend it to anyone.

"Wonderful Family house in a beautiful location"
This holiday could have been stressful taking our 5 week old baby but when we arrived it couldn't have been more relaxing. The house is very spacious, light and cool. We are a family of 5 and went with a friend and his daughter too, which didn't cause any problems with numbers at all. The village is very picturesque with lovely walks and a short drive to the nearest town for shops and restaurants. If you like kayaking like my husband the Ardeche is a must, it is so beautiful with plenty of river beaches. The children loved playing in the swimming pool even into the night!! I would definitely recommend this holiday accommodation to anyone.

"Perfect Family Holiday. A Real Home From Home"
My wife, two boys, 8 & 6 & myself travelled down to the property in Aug 2012. The location is fantastic if you like peace & quiet. Le Garn is a lovely French village, no one there seemed to speak English but all very friendly. For us the location was perfect as we wanted somewhere out of the way. If you like nightlife & discos this isn't the place for you. However, if as we were you're looking for somewhere you can have a proper family holiday, spending time together & having fun look no further. The swimming pool is great, the BBQ area & terrace are fantastic. the house itself was very clean & cosy. Fully equipped with everything you need. It feels very homely there IMHO. The local area id great with loads of little villages 7 town all with their own character. the rivers & river beaches are wonderful. it's the sort of place where you have to make you're own entertainment, which suited us down to the ground. All in all it's the best family holiday we've been on.

"R&R in the sun!"
La Tourelle had the right balance of luxury and simplicity. Loved the open living space downstairs and the good size pool and furniture. The setting was peaceful and idyllic. Excellent value for money!

"Does exactly what it said it would on the advert, perfect!"
Ideal, When given the task of finding a family holiday for an enthusiastic 4 year old, His grand parents, my 7 month pregnant wife, alpine wild boar hunting dog and of course myself. This house ticked all boxes on the advert, and it met all its claims. Space and comfort perfect. Swimming , walking, site seeing, adventuring ,relaxing and wine tasting. I know the area very well,( having lived there for a short period) you cannot go far wrong in the ardeche, markets are great, good one on Sunday mornings in next village along, perfect for getting your food shopping out of the way with at the start of you holiday. We will be visiting again !

"Wonderful house, wonderful location, exceeded expectations"
The house is new, spotlessly clean, and contains everything you could possibly need. Its location is wonderful. Not too far from historic sites, scenery all around quite breathtaking. Canoeing seems to be on offer all around the area, and I was talked into having a go. Was dreading it, but had a wonderful time, on the river Ceze, peaceful, lots of wildlife, and even shooting the rapids (well a couple of inches deep seemed a lot to me!) Cannot recommend this house highly enough, I only wish we had booked 2 weeks.

"Lovely property with excellent space, kitchen and fittings"
Our stay was in August 2011 which was incredibly hot! Having such a well laid out spacious cottage meant we could retreat from the midday sun and then enjoy the excellent pool later in the day...or straight after breakfast which was very popular with the children. There were only four of us but it was clear to see that a party of eight would find the accomodation equally spacious...the bunk beds went down well. It's a lovely quiet location but within a sensible distance of the local towns, markets and outdoor activities. Getting to the river beaches was simple and returning to the house was a pleasure. Although being on holiday is not about staying inside and watching films it did prove handy to have a good selection available for the odd morning when waking up before 7.00am was not a real option for the adults. I've been to France many times and this was the first time I stayed in a property that had a kitchen which was well stocked with quality fittings which meant we could create some excellent dishes from the local produce (my wife cooked). Would go back and very happy to recommend.

"Idyllic location and well equipped house"
We had a lovely week's stay at La Tourelle. The house was brilliantly equipped for our family - four children and grandparents - which was great because sometimes holiday homes just have the basics whereas La Tourelle felt like there was proper attention to thinking about what would make it a great place to stay. The pool was immaculate and everything worked properly and was clean and fresh. Location was good too - it felt remote but actually it was easy to get everywhere that we wanted to. We visited the Pont du Gard and Nimes and spent a couple of days in and around the Ardeche and the rest of the time we just pottered nearer to home.
