A luxuriously renovated farmhouse on a mountain top named Eybarithoux, in the middle of the largest nature reserve in France. Detached farmhouse in the middle of the nature. You only hear the sound of the cowbells, the birds and the crickets. The ultimate place for enjoying nature, sportive activities and a stress-free holiday.
The detached farmhouse from 1897 has been fully renovated in 2001; original details like the wooden beams of the ceiling at the ground floor, the fire place with the large chimney and the thick walls of almost one meter have been kept. The house has been fully adjusted to the demands of today, has central heating, a modern bath room, three bright bedrooms, two toilets. The furnishing has been fully renewed, the authentic details together with antique decorations in the living room give the house its authentic atmosphere, where everyone feels at home immediately.

The Limousin / Auvergne / Cantal region
Welcome in the largest nature reserve in France, Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans D’Auvergne. The size of the park is 395.000 ha and is located in the Auvergne, in the departement Cantal. The holiday house is located in the village Le Claux.
Le Claux is located between two regional cities Riom-es-Montagnes and Murat, 95 km from the province capital Clermont-Ferrand. The house is located on a mountain crest, called Eybarithoux, at the highest point of the village (env. 1300m) and has a really magnificent view on the valley of the Cantal. There are a lot of castles and century-old towns to visit nearby.
Le Claux area
The beautiful countryside with its extensive woods, meadows, mountain slopes, lakes and volcanoes means that there is a rich flora and fauna to appreciate in the surrounding area. There are plenty of sporty activities available in the Auvergne to enable you to gain more of a feel for the area, such as hiking or cycling. The guest books in the house give a good indication of the activities that our guests have engaged in.
In your house information maps are available with a lot of tourist information and references to the tourist offices. The main activity by far is hiking in the environs from Eybarithoux, but also other sports can be done and will be highlighted here.

Further details indoors: Livingroom The living room with half open kitchen (45m2) The authentic fireplace, provided with a stove, with its large chimney forms the centre of the living room. Wood for the fireplace is always available. In the living room you’ll find a comfortable three and two seats sofa with an easy chair A storage for toys, games, books and magazines is available for young and old. A comfortable reading chair with lighting makes reading enjoyable. There is European satellite TV, including English spoken channels.The telephone requires an international phone card, available at Christian’s with added cost. Calling to the gîte does not require a telephone card. A computer can be connected with a telephone card. The living room and kitchen has a tile-floor and central floor heating. In the living room two doors give access to the terrace of the veranda.
Kitchen But also kitchen equipment like coffee-maker, electric water cooker and a food mixer are present just as all the other things that you are used to at home. The comfort and equipment in the kitchen invite you to spend some more time on cooking, now you are on holiday.
Bedrooms Three spacious bright bedrooms (12m2, 12m2 and 9m2) The bedrooms have a concrete floor covered with parquet and have central heating. Each bedroom has two box spring beds of 90X 200cm; the beds are provided with duvet covers. The box spring beds each have a bed side table and lamp and on each bedroom a spacious wardrobe is available with shelves and a hanging part. Coat hangers are present.
At arrival the house has been cleaned and the beds have been made up. At request an extra bed linen change can take place during your stay. You only have to take hand and tea towels. At request we have an extra baby bed and baby chair available
Bathroom The spacious bathroom has a bath and shower with cupboard and built in washbasin. The water from the tap is hot in France; the taps are provided with a thermostat. A separate toilet is next to the bathroom. On the ground floor, next to the entrance, another toilet is available.
Further details outdoors: Around the house you will find several patios, a veranda and a spacious garden. The magnificent location of the house with its panoramic view over the valley, in the middle of the nature of the Cantal, guarantee privacy and rest.
A fixed barbecue is available and all patios have sufficient garden furniture. At the property a jeu de boules lane including balls is available.
The surface of the property is 5300m2.
