"Great location!"

We really enjoyed our stay in beautiful Carcassonne. The Monet apartment is in a super location, on a quiet little street looking out at the walls of the cite. It is also well placed for little shops… More

"Good location - pity about the damp patches"

We stayed at Renoir for one week at the end of October, a last minute booking. We were met in by Inga, who kindly took us to a supermarket on the way back. The apartment was well located in a quiet str… More

Customer satisfaction is always our top priority, however these guests
have made some comments which are very misleading, contradictory and

The apartment is located in the popular Trivalle district below the
Medieval Cite and is indeed a ten minute walk into the Cite. However,
the town centre is a comfortable fifteen minute walk as previous
reviews have stated. We would suggest that most people would not
regard a ten or fifteen minute walk as "a lot of walking".

It is an old privately owned apartment building and whilst the
ceilings and floors are well insulated there will be some occasional
noise from the apartment above. If the shutters are kept closed any
apartment will be dark but there is plenty of light in the apartment.

The wall in the living room was not damp when these guests arrived. We
pointed out to them the large stain on the living room wall caused by
a leaking pipe in the neighbouring property which had been recently
repaired. We decided not to paint over the stain as it could be an
unpleasant odour for the guests. This work has subsequently been
carried out.

The bathroom is most certainly ventilated and is a legal requirement.
It has a small window and a mechanical ventilation system as does the

These guests have clearly strived to find negative comments in the
hope of extracting discount on the price although they didn't have the
courtesy to talk to us directly despite plenty of opportunity to do

We would ask potential guests to read other guest reviews for a more
balanced viewpoint.

"Fantastic Apartment!"

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 5 days and we couldn't have asked for anything better. After getting a train from Toulouse down to Carcassonne we were picked up by Inga who gave us a short drive through the city and pointed out some good restaurants to eat and local shops for food. The apartment was very clean and well maintained with everything we could possibly need for our stay. We had two fans instead of air conditioning because of the age of the building, but that didn't bother us at all as we kept the windows open and it was far cooler indoors than outside.
There were essential items such as tea and coffee along with some milk in the fridge which we really appreciated! The local shops on either end of the street also had everything we needed.
The location was definitely the best thing about the apartment. The street was quiet and peaceful and we did not have to travel far to find a restaurant. The medieval city was right above the apartment and we pretty much explored every inch inside the castle walls. The river bank was also in close walking distance, and we managed to get a spot on the grass for the firework show on Bastille day (along with the thousands of others!).
Our french also improved too as there is very little english translation on menus, but if there had been I may not have tried chicken gizzards, which I surprisingly loved!
Overall this apartment was like a 'home from home' and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking to explore Carcassonne. We had a fantastic time and are looking forward to returning! Ste & Gem

Again this review highlights our priorities in making our guests feel at home. Customer satisfaction is our main priority.

"Amazing location, great little place"

Stayed here for a three night stay, more than adequate to explore Carcassonne with La Cite only 10 minutes walk away up the cobbled path behind the apartment. Such a great location, plenty of local restaurants and bars, shops, and if you want to walk over the bridge to the main town, it is only a 20-25 minute walk away. Weather was unseasonably poor, but it did not matter with everything so close to hand and a great apartment to come back to. Inga, the owner, was more than helpful. Picking us up from the airport and dropping us off again was 'part of the service' and I have never come across that level of service when renting an apartment before! The property is a little noisy if someone has rented the upstairs apartment, but this was not a major issue. The kitchen had everything we could want and with satellite TV it became a home from home. Would not hesitate to go back again!

This is a lovely review but to avoid confusion for future guests, the town centre is a comfortable 10-15 minutes walk and the Cite is 5 minutes up a cobbled street. These guests obviously took their time and enjoyed the sights en route.

"Close to the old town of Carcassonne."

This apartment is conveniently sited for visiting the historic old town of Carcassonne on foot. It is clean, comfortable and well equipped but lacks an outside sitting space. We enjoyed a pleasant holiday but car rental is recommended for exploring the region.

Nice to hear that these guests appreciate the excellent location of the apartment and the high standards of accommodation we provide and maintain. We are surprised with the comment about lack of outside sitting space as this is not advertised with this apartment. If outside space is a priority we would recommend our apartment Cezanne, which has a private outside roof terrace (property no: 352067). We would like to point out that there are plenty of restaurants, cafes and beautiful spots along the River Aude to sit outside within a few minutes walk of the apartment.

We have guests from all over the world with many different priorities, some choose our apartments because they are centrally located and car hire is not necessary whilst others use us as a base to explore the region, particularly the Cathar castles.
