This is a lovely apartment situated in the beautiful unspoilt village of le Cernix, Crest Voland. Completed in December 2007 by MGM whose reputation for building consistently high quality accommodation is renowned.
The apartment has 2 bedrooms, an en suite shower room, family bathroom and a separate WC. There is a fully fitted and equipped kitchen and dining area. A large decked balcony off the dining area provides spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
The apartment has all the usual, high quality mod cons including a large plasma TV, CD/DVD player, ipod docking station and wireless broadband internet.
Within the chalet development there is a large indoor heated swimming pool, large sun deck, secure parking and ski locker.
Le Chalet des Oursons is conveniently located just minutes from the ski lifts or join the blue run earlier and the village amenities where you will find Le Pub, Bars, Restaurants, Deli, Ski hire and Tourist office (see photo)

The chalet des Oursons or chalet of little bear cubs is a self catering luxury apartment and is an ideal base for ski or summer sports.
Sleeps up to 6 in 2 bedrooms (one double 2 singles) plus large L-shaped sofa bed in the lounge.

There is a large indoor heated swimming pool within the development with a large sun deck with fantastic views across the mountains.
The pool is open in winter and summer from December to March and July to end of August.
The pistes and main chair lift are minutes away and being one of the villages within the Espace Diamant ski region you will have access to 185 km of skiing, made up of 13 Black, 61 Red, 78 Blue and 44 Green Runs.
The Espace Diamant offers the same standard of skiing as the more popular resorts but without the crowds and queues.
6 minutes walk to the local amenities where you find restaurants, pub, deli, ski hire and tourist office. This is a resort where apres ski is low key in this authentic french mountain feel resort.
The Rhone/French Alps region
There are an abundance of activities in Winter or Summer in the Haute-Savoie region. The region encompasses a large part of the French Alps and consists of 110 resorts.
Activities include Skiing, Hiking or Walking, Water Sports, Cycling, Golf and Horse riding.
The apartment is located in the village of Le Cernix which is next to Crest Voland, a pretty village 20 mins drive from the exclusive and bustling resort of Megeve.
It is at the heart of The Espace Diamant ski area, situated at the foot of Mont Blanc. The area has 185 km of alpine slopes and comprises the five villages of Les Saisies, Crest-Voland, Notre Dame de Bellecombe, Flumet and Praz sur Arly.
The resort gained its first lift in 1951 and has grown steadily ever since, the creation of the link to Les Saises in 1985 formed the original 'Espace Crystal' ski region. The "Espace Cristal" now links to Les Saisies and Crest-Voland - Cohennoz, to form "Espace Diamant". From December 2005 this area has also been linked to Notre-Dame de Bellecombe, Flumet and Praz sur Arly.
It is ideal for families and couples, the slopes suit beginners and intermediate level skiers. There are also black runs for the more advanced skiers but is mainly made up of blue and red runs.

The slopes are unspolit and uncrowded and the Apres ski is fairly low key. There are 12 Bars, 9 Restaurants and one night club in Crest Voland. In Le Cernix (a few minutes from Crest Voland) there are several restaurants, a few bars, deli and Le Pub.
The area has also a large Nordic network of cross country trails which run through the heavily wooded countryside surrounding the village.
There is plenty to enjoy in the summer too. Lying on the “Route des Grandes Alpes”, Val d’Arly is the perfect base for excursions into the surrounding countryside, whether by car, on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback. Other activities in the area include golf, white water sports and fishing.
The heated swimming pool is also open in Winter and Summer seasons and has a large sundeck outside with lovely views of the mountains.

"Great Location Ideal Skiing Apartment"
Had never heard of this Ski location until we found the Apartment on Holiday lettings & we are really pleased we went. The apartment is great, plenty of space, the bedrooms are big the open plan lounge ideal & a lovely balcony. Very warm & extremely easy to use. There is every amenity you could need & we didn't require any of the boot full of "essentials" we took.
The apartment was spotless as was the pool area in the adjoining building.
A 5 - 10 min walk with Ski boots on & carrying Skis (done by 12 year old girl) gets you 2 thirds way down a blue run to get to the main Le Cernix lift When finishing we skied literally back to the apartment door although if there was poorer snow conditions then this wouldn't be possible although the walk back would be only 5 mins as all down hill. To walk into Le Cernix it takes 8 - 10 mins is very easy & makes it not worth getting the car out of the excellent underground garage. The town has all you need but its not somewhere to go to party, Crest-Voland is a 5 minute drive away & has more restaurants (everyone we tried was just fantastic) but is still quiet by traditional British skiers standards but all the better for it in our view
The resort itself is fantastic It was so quiet it was like having private ski slopes. Yes the skiing is not that demanding so if you are a gung ho extreme skier go somewhere else but for a mixed ability family it is perfect. The runs are long & wide the lifts modern and the scenery is stunning. The restaurants are as good as anywhere in the world & good value compared to other more popular places we've been.
A word of warning though, it is worth looking carefully at the area piste map as if you buy the Val d'Arly lift pass you can't ski into Bellecombe, Flumet & Praz d"Arly because the Les Saisles access is on the Espace Diamante pass. You can get the ski bus to these linked villages & it is only a 10 minute ride & definitely worth doing but if you want the best out of the skiing get the main pass.
We enjoyed it so much we are a sneaking another holiday in before Easter this year so that really says it all. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

"Lovely chalet apartment for a summer mountain getaway"
The chalet was beautifully appointed with plenty of storage space and was roomy and light. Wifi and an iPod dock were great facilities and the furniture and beds very comfortable. The standard of the chalet and public areas within the development was very high. The situation of the apartment was superb - next to the path up to the village, with a stunning view down the valley from the large balcony. We had not realised the elevation of the site before we arrived but it was so well designed having the garage levels and swimming pool hidden from view.
The pool was excellent but it was a pity it was only open from 10.00am to 7.00pm, meaning it was not always feasible to fit a swim in.
Our holiday was in the summer and we found plenty of hiking locally and further afield. The chairlift in Crest Voland operates 5 days a week in summer. At the top is a lake and a restaurant and well marked paths for walking and cycling. There is a great view of the Mont Blanc range as you arrive at the top. The alpine flowers were prolific. There are several other chairlifts operating close by to get you up the mountains in summer. The tourist office in Crest Voland was very useful.
We visited Geneva (including CERN), La Clusaz, Annecy, Chamonix (went up Mont Blanc) and Italy quite easily. The location of the chalet was very quiet in July but there were still 2 restaurants open within 5 minutes walk and plenty more 20 minutes walk away. There are several small shops within walking distance and a large Intermarche in Praz-sur-Arly.
We thought the area was beautiful and unspoilt and simply loved the laid back life of summertime in Le Cernix. We were lucky enough to enjoy a jazz evening in Le Cernix/Crest Voland and there is a summer programme of entertainment events in local villages. An area well worth exploring in summer as well as in the skiing season!

"Excellent value, location and amenities"
This is a reasonably-priced and good-sized two double-bedroom appartment which is modern, very comfortable and well equipped, and includes a good quality double sofa bed in the living area. The sofas themselves also have plenty of room for five or six people to sit in comfort. A sunny aspect during the late morning and afternoon made the appartment pleasantly warm, and we sat on the balcony some lunchtimes, as it was possible to return to the apartment for lunch, given it's location only a few minutes walk from the nearest piste. The electric heating was very efficient and despite the exceptionally cold weather during our stay, we were always warm once inside. The other facilities such as ski locker, underground garage and the swimming pool were a real bonus, as was the good internet connection with large TV and DVD player.
We found most of the runs to be quite easy ski-ing, and didn't have worry quite so much about our sons getting caught out, especially as they tend to ski a bit faster than we do now. But there were also a few black runs for them to try. The large amount of runs over the Espace Diamant ski area was also great fun as it was possible to travel a good distance in one day. We skied into Les Saisies several times and really enjoyed the long run back through the trees.
A car (or the ski bus) is necessary to complete the whole circuit, but a car is needed anyway to make the most of the restaurants in the next village of Crest Volants 2 km away, as there are only two within walking distance of the appartment in Le Cernix - both of which are good, albeit expensive compared to UK.
