Home description

La Gardelle sleeps 4/6 people, its bright and spacious accommodation consists of a large lounge/dining area with corner open stone fireplace. There is a raised front terrace from which there are views of the valley. The lounge area has sofas, tables and satellite English TV, DVD player and hifi, we have a selection of DVDs, CDs, books and games to choose from.

The dining area has a large wooden table and chairs and also a double wrought iron sofa bed. There is a large rear kitchen which leads directly out onto the mature rear garden. There are two bedrooms, one having en suite shower and basin. There is another bathroom with shower/basin and toilet. There is also a separate toilet. From the internal garage is a laundry area with washing machine.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region

The Dordogne is one of the most beautiful regions in France. The town of Le Bugue is situated in the Perigord Noir of the region, so named because of the black truffles and walnuts found here, its famous for its good food and wine. The area is steeped in history having been inhabited for many thousands of years. The countryside is endless and having stunning views all around. Sarlat, Bergerac and Perigueux are all nearby and each has its own individual character and charm, there are numerous chateaux open to the public.

Le Bugue area

The old market town of Le Bugue has an interesting ambiance. The bustling Tuesday market provides everything we might associate with the french life. There are banks, restaurants, bars, 4 supermarkets, post office, chemists and a doctors surgery(with an english speaking doctor).Within the town is the Village de Bournat (a living museum of bygone days), the Aquarium of the Perigord Noir and mini golf. Nearby is the medieval town of Sarlat and the famous Lascaux cave drawings at Montignac. Pre-historic Les Eyzies is only a 10 minute drive away. The Dordogne and Vezere valleys provide a number walking and cycling trails.Local activities include, swimming, tennis, walking cycling, fishing, horseriding, golf and canoeing.

Flybe and Ryanair airlines both fly regularly to Bergerac airport, from a number of UK airports.

The front terrace has a sunny aspect and is an ideal place to start the day over breakfast. The large stone terrace to the rear of the property has a barbecue and seating for six. Perfect for dining in the evening. Sun loungers are also provided. From the terrace are steps leading to a fully enclosed garden with mature fruit trees.

Pets are only allowed with the consent of the owner.
There is no smoking allowed inside the property.
A refundable breakages deposit of £100 is required on arrival, this will be returned within two weeks of your departure (subject to a satisfactory property inspection).

La Gardelle is available to rent from the end of October until the end of March for a monthly cost of £660, this does not include utility bills which would be an extra £25 per week, the house is secondary glazed, fully central heated and has an open fire. We would consider weekly rental during this period, enquiries are welcome.
