Pegauret is located in the heart of the Perigord Noir, famous for its mediaeval castles, wide rivers and rolling, tree covered hills. The house faces south and is orientated around the patios and swimming pool. It is constructed in traditional style with a pigeonnaire tower and a large open fire place. The house is set back from a quiet road that leads through a wooded valley to the Dordogne river, which is within walking distance. Bathing and canoeing are within a few minutes drive,as is the delightful town of Le Bugue, where local markets and street cafes combine with a beautiful river setting.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region
The area benefits from a southern European climate, wide rivers, wooded valleys, authentic mediaeval towns and villages and magnificent castles, dating from the Hundred Years War. In addition, the area contains some of the most significant prehistoric cave paintings in Europe. Further to the west is the city of Bordeaux and the world famous vinyards.
The Le Bugue / St Chamassy area
Le Bugue has a beautiful riverside setting and offers cafes, restaurants, street markets with local produce together with some larger supermarkets on the outskirts. Local attractions include canoeing and an aquarium, which is well worth visiting.

We stayed here along with another 4 friends for my best friends 50th birthday and what an amazing week we had........
The house was very beautiful, very well equipped and very well looked after.the pool and garden area were very well maintained and there was plenty of garden furniture for our use.
The house is in a very quiet but beatiful area so a car would be recommended.
We drove out to several of the surrounding villages which again were quiet but very beautiful and inviting.
Overall we would all recommend Pegauret 100% we had an amazing week !
