Welcome to La Confiance at Champ d'oeuf our newly restored traditional stone cottage in the Brenne Natural Park which is in the South Loire Valley, close to the chateaux and wineries of the Loire Region, where you can enjoy self catering accommodation or alternatively come to us for bed, breakfast & optional evening meal, of course you have the option to mix and match, why not come to us self catering, and have a break from cooking without having to worry about translating menus, let us cook for you, or we can cook and deliver a meal to the cottage ready for when you return from a day's sightseeing.
La Confiance self catering gite is a beautifully restored stone cottage dating back to the last century, with two large beamed, en suite bedrooms, one has large double bed and 2 single beds, the other has a large double bed. The open plan living room/kitchen diner has a washing machine, dishwasher, split level cooker and fridge freezer. Enjoy sitting at the farmhouse table while dinner is cooking, perhaps playing games with the children or alternatively relaxing on one of the 3 large sofas with a large glass of local wine!
Sue & Chris live on site completely separate from La Confiance but able to assist with planning your days out in our beautiful area.
Outside in the garden we have provided you with a Summer house with large table and bbq perfect for relaxing in the shade, with the fragrance of the jasmin, alternatively we have a 2 acre garden, with an orchard where you can sit and relax while the children enjoy playing in the totally enclosed garden. In the garden there are swings and plenty of games to keep all the family occupied.
We provide you with a Welcome Pack containing local treats, incuding home made jam and eggs from our neighbours farm and of course some delicious bread from our local bakery.
For bed & breakfast visitors we have La Brenne which s a ground floor suite with a sitting room and a family bedroom with a large double bed and 2 single beds in the sitting room is a double sofa bed and a separate en suite shower room.

The Loire Valley / Indre region
The Loire Valley which is a short drive away is noted for its Chateaux and wineries, our area of the South Loire Valley boasts beautiful scenery enjoy tranquil walks and cycle rides round one of the many lakes in the Brenne National Parc known as the land of a 1,000 lakes. This area is perfect for bird waters and animal lovers alike.
Our area is completely unspoilt by mass industry or tourism - discover a whole new experience, while enjoying a traditional French holiday.
The climate is delightful Spring is earlier and Autumn later than in the UK , temperatures in the Summer often reaching 30 degrees.
Le Blanc / Azay le Ferron area
La Confiance is situated in the South Loire Valley Using La Confiance as your base you can spend the day cycling or walking around the Brenne National Parc enjoying the beautiful scenery and visiting one of the 1,000 lakes – we can pack you a picnic hamper so you don’t need to worry about finding somewhere for lunch.
We are within easy reach of all the famous Chateaux and wineries of the Loire Valley, and of course, no holiday to France would be complete without a visit to the local markets. We can even arrange a visit to a goats cheese farm.
During the Summer Months there is a fete every weekend in one of our local villages, we will be more than happy to give you advise about what activites are happening during your stay with us.
Our Local Villages:- AZAY LE FERRON
Approximately 2 miles from La Confiance lies the pretty town of AZAY LE FERRON with its enclosed chateau and visitor centre. You will be able to get leaflets in English about local places to visit at the visitor centre.
The town has small supermarket (Petit Casino), boulangerie, boucherie, charcuterie, pharmacy, 2 brasserie/bars, tabac and post office. Check with owners for opening times.
MARTIZAY
Approximately 1 mile from La Confiance is the village of MARTIZAY which is sited on the River Claise, enjoy a walk along the rivers edge and even take a picnic as there are tables provided. There is also fishing available on the river. The town has 2 small bar/restaurants, small supermarket, boulangerie, Martizay has a small local produce market on Wednesday morning.
Le Blanc
Approximately 8 miles from La Confiance is the pretty town of Le Blanc, with several large supermarkets, a variety of shops, bars and restaurants, banks and post office (La Poste).
Mezieres en Brenne
Approximately 10 miles from La Confiance is the picturesque town of Mezieres en Brenne with several restaurants, bars, cafes and visitors shops. Don't forget to visit the visitor centre at Mezieres where you can arrange walks and other activities in the Brenne National Parc.
Futuroscope
Approximately 1 hours drive from us is the Futuroscope Theme Park a fantastic day out for both adults and children alike.
We are situated in the Centre Region of France, in the South Loire Valley very close to the New A28 motorway which runs from the North of France through to the South. The new motorway means that the journey to us is only 5 hours from Calais. Stay with us for a few days on your journey to South of France or Spain.
How to get there
We are situated in the Brenne National Park, a haven for birdwatchers and nature lovers alike, this is in the Centre Region of France, in the South Loire Valley very close to the New A28 motorway which runs from the North of France through to the South. The new motorway means that the journey to us is only 6 hours from Calais. Try www.speedferries.com for cheap crossings. or alternatively Fly to Poitiers or Tours from Stansted, Birmingham or Dublin on Ryanair - www.ryanair.co.uk, 1 hour flight and hire a car and be with us within 1 hour

If you are here to celebrate an anniversary or a birthday, we can arrange a special arrival package on request, such as a cake, champagne, flowers or hand made chocolates. If you are house hunting, we do special weekend breaks through the off peak season. We can arrange Estate Agent visits if required
La Confiance is set in 2 acres of completely private garden. In the morning enjoy your continental style breakfast watching the birds and wildlife in our garden. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of our garden, sit and catch up on your reading, we have an extensive library, for you to choose from, or enjoy the many delights of the area. We are close to the Chateaux and wineries of the Loire valley, and our local town Azay le Ferron has its own chateau set in acres of beautiful parkland, well worth a visit during your stay with us. Not far away at Bellbouche is a large lake with a beach ideal for family days out. In Poitier a short drive away is Futuroscope Themepark ideal for children of all ages.
Further details outdoors: Our 2 acre completely enclosed garden is ideal for children and adults alike. It is completely private so you can sit and relax while the children have fun playing in the garden.
If you enjoy nature we have a multitude of birds in our garden, including Nightingales and Black Redstarts who normally nest nearby.
Butterflies swarm round our lavender, far too many varieties to list!
We can provide you with a local map highlighting the delightful walks you can take, we have beautiful lakes within walking distance, or walk past the farm and see the animals.
We have provided lots of outside games for you and your family to enjoy, there is a badminton area, and swings for the children. Or why not just sit in the shade and relax.

Bed & Breakfast is available at 60euro for 2 people sharing double room, optional dinner available at 25euro per person, we can cater for all dietary requirements - ask about special 7 day rates.
Welcome pack provided on arrival which consists of :- French stick, croissants, semi-skimmed milk, butter, home made Jam, fresh eggs coffee, teabags, sugar and a bottle of Loire Valley wine. All bed linen, towels, cleaning materials, gas, electricity, water are included in the price. Resident English owners live in the farmhouse along the Courtyard and offer help and advice whenever needed, on your first morning come and coffee with us and we can assist with your planning and give you local leaflets and information.
