Set in four acres of vineyards and apricot orchards La Grangette is the recently converted wing of a large house. With completely independent access the studio is private and just perfect for two. Wake up to the sun rising over Mont Ventoux, the Giant of Provence - your terrace has stunning views and is ideal for sunny breakfasts and candlelit suppers. A swimming pool set up on a higher terrace offers the chance of a refreshing dip or simply relaxing and unwinding in rural tranquility.

Large sliding glass doors lead into a calm and cool interior. The renovation cleverly combines old and new to create a charm and character but with comfortable mod cons!

The studio has twin beds which can be configured to make a super king double bed. There's a fully tiled en suite shower room and a functional and fitted kitchen with a table for two. The garden is full of herbs for keen cooks and there's a plentiful supply of apricots during the season - just help yourself.

The hill-top village of Le Barroux is enchanting ywith a castle to visit and typical stone houses in warm narrow streets to wander - all an easy stroll away. There's good shopping for everyday needs in Caromb, just a few minutes away by car - and towns such as Malaucene, Vaison la Romaine and Carpentras are all nearby. Avignon is just over half an hour away.

La Grangette is in the famous wine area of Provence - Beaumes de Venise, Vacqueyras, Gigondas and all those familiar names are all within a few minutes' drive.

The Provence region

Award winning wines, colourful markets, wonderful scenery, walking, cycling or just enjoying the sun in Provence at its best - from lavender fields to Roman remains there's so much to see and do, you might need to come back several times!

The climate ranges from a cold but sunny minus 10 degrees in winter when you can ski on Mont Ventoux and in summer rises to a maximum of +35/40 degrees making a swim in the pool utterly irresistible.

Throughout the year there are festivals and fetes all across Provence with arts, theatre, music, culinary and gastronomic delights. Le Barroux

Avoid the crowds on the coast; Vaucluse is an ideal place for your holiday and is very easily accessible by road rail and air.

About the Owner:

We've lived in the area since 2001 and can offer you advice and local recommendations for walks/tours/drives and interesting places to visit. Having a French mother gives us a special connection to Provence and with an architect husband we have loved restoring the house. My background in catering is certainly well catered for in this area with delicious seasonal fruit and vegetables, local cheeses and specialities.
