This very popular apartment in this newly-developed holiday complex in the coastal resort of Le Barcares is modern, attractive, well thought-out and good quality. We have several similar apartments available here which are all to the same high standard in terms of decor and furnishings and everything is provided to make your holiday here comfortable and enjoyable.
The furnishings and appliances in the apartment have been chosen with care and offer you smart and attractive surroundings with the benefit of air-conditioning. The sofa is leather, the dining table and chairs finished in light oak, the bedrooms attractive, practical and comfortable with quality beds, the kitchen and bath/shower room crisp and well-equipped. The apartment is equipped with a TV, a DVD player and CD/radio.
The location in Le Barcares is hard to beat as you have a lovely on-site swimming pool, a supermarket within 5 minutes walk and the long, fine, sandy beach just 10 minutes walk away. Unless you want to spend a day out sight-seeing in this lovely region, there is no need to use your car as the port, shops and restaurants of Le Barcares are just a 10-15 minute stroll.
Le Barcares is a vibrant, lively and picturesque town with a large harbour. The town is full of flowers in the high summer. It is situated on the coast, and also has a salt-water lagoon just behind it, making it an ideal location for all types of water sports.
There are stunning views of the foothills of the Pyrenees which make a lovely backdrop whilst walking along the sandy beaches. Out of the high summer season the town is quieter and the lovely climate enables you to walk, cycle, sit outside and relax from very early spring to late autumn.

Living Room: The 3-bedroom apartment has a surface area of approximately 84 sq.m. The living area, dining area and kitchen are all open plan to each other making for a very sociable living space. The sofa is in leather and very comfortable and there's a coffee table. The sofa is also a comfortable convertible bed sleeping 2 people if required. On a separate unit there is a TV receiving French channels , a DVD player, and a stereo system. All the furniture is in a light oak finish. The ambience is smart and modern. Reversible air-conditioning/heating is available throughout.
¦Dining Area: There is a dining table which seats 6-8 in comfort.
Kitchen: The kitchen area is modern and very-well equipped. There's a hob with extractor unit, an oven/microwave, fridge/freezer, dish-washer, washing machine, electric kettle and coffee maker, crockery and utensils for 6-8 people, iron and ironing board.
Bedrooms: All the bedrooms in these apartments are kitted out to the same high standard with twin beds and one set of bed linen included in the price. There is ample storage provided by built-in cupboards in the room. This is a 3-bedroom apartment which sleeps 6 to 8 people; the additional sleeping accommodation for 2 people is provided by the convertible sofa in the living room.
Bathroom: Newly fitted and tiled with a separate WC and bath/shower. A couple of the slightly larger 3-bed apartments have 2 bathrooms - please enquire if this is important to you.

Outside: The apartments will have a lovely terrace balcony or, if on the ground floor, a small garden area - outdoor furniture is provided. There is plenty of parking within the gates of La Pinede.
Swimming Pool: A large secure and attractive shared swimming pool is available. It is normally open from May to early October, according to the weather. Sun-loungers are available around the swimming pool area.

Internet: There is no internet connection in the apartment, but there is a WiFi connection for use with your own laptop at the Reception Office by arrangement. We unfortunately cannot take any responsibility for the availability of the WiFi.
Telephone: Sorry, there is no telephone connection here but mobile phone signals in the area are generally good.
Baby Facilities: A baby kit consisting of a cot and a high chair is available for a supplement of 20 Euros per week, payable direct on arrival. Please reserve in advance is required.
Winter Heating and Air-Conditioning: The units provided in the apartments offer both heating and air-conditioning - the cost is included in the rental price.
Gas, Electric and Water: are all included in the rental price.
End of stay cleaning: is not included in the rental price and is compulsory, and payable in Reception on arrival. For this apartment the price is 70 Euros.
Bed and bathroom linen: Bed linen is included in the rental price and the beds will be made for you on arrival. If you would like a change of bed linen during your stay, this is available via the Reception office for an additional 7 Euros per person.
Towels and tea towels: Are NOT included in the rental price. If you wish to hire towels the cost 6 Euros per person per week, payable on arrival - please reserve in advance if required.
Pets: may be possible with prior permission. There is an additional charge of 25 euros per week.
Taxe de Sejour: In France, it is necessary to pay a Taxe de Sejour at the end of your stay. It is payable here direct at the guide rate of 0.55 Euros per person per day.
Rental prices and availability: Rental prices vary according to the season and week, so please enquire for a firm price. Availability will be checked when we receive your specific enquiry.
Damage Deposit: The owners request a damage deposit of 500 Euros payable on arrival by credit card. This will be refunded to your card shortly after the end of your holiday less the replacement cost of any breakages or damage.
Change Over Day: Saturday only from 30th June to 31st August 2012. Other arrival/departure days may be possible outside these dates except for Wednesday when the Reception is closed - please enquire.
Short breaks: May be possible outside of the dates 30th June to 31st August 2012 and subject to a minimum stay of 4 nights - please enquire for price and availability.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Pyrenees-Orientales region


This part of the Languedoc has a sunny Mediterranean climate. It can be hot in summer, but the temperature is often tempered by a breeze. Now the 3rd most visited region in France by British people, the Languedoc offers something for everyone.
Miles of long, sandy beaches, coastal lagoons, vibrant cities such as Perpignan, Narbonne and Montpellier, historical sites such as Carcassonne and the Cathar castles, fabulous scenery, great cuisine and plenty of vineyards and olive groves.
The Le Barcares area
Le Barcares is a family holiday resort on the sunny Catalan coast of France just to the North East or Perpignan. It is in a region that is one of the sunniest in the South of France and has a fine, sandy beach 8kms long which because of its size is never too crowded. The town is vibrant, and picturesque with views of the turquoise Mediterranean sea to the front and views of the Pyrenees as a back drop. There are walks along the sea-front, around the busy harbour and around the old original fishing village. There are shops, bars, and restaurants, a cinema, a night-club and a casino.
Sports Facilities: As Le Barcares is located on a strip of land between the sea and a large salt-water lake, there are LOTS of water sports here - sailing, wind-surfing, diving, wake-boarding, jet ski-ing etc etc. There's also sea and lake fishing. You can play Mini Golf, petanque, you can cycle on safe cycle paths, roller skate or go horse-riding. A fun time can be had by all the family!
Sight-seeing: This is a beautiful region to explore - not least to visit the Cote Vermeille further down the coast towards Spain and the idyllic resort of Collioure. A great day out is to the fantastic fortress - the Chateau de Salses, just a very short drive away. Within as short drive too is the African Nature Reserve at Sigean where you can see over 3000 different species of animals in close-to-nature surroundings. You can also pay a visit to Terra Vinea - a vast underground cavern now used as a huge wine store, with a tour and a wine-tasting afterwards.
Markets: The markets of the region are colourful and interesting and full of resh, local seasonal produce - there's a market in Le Barcares on a Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Restaurants: There are a wide number of restaurants in the town to suit all budgets and tastes. Seafood is a speciality around here.
Supermarket: You'll find the nearest supermarket just a few minutes walk from La Pinede.

By Car: Le Barcares is on the coast to the North East of Perpignan and about 15 minutes drive from Perpignan airport. The nearest autoroute exits are No's: 40 and 41 on the A9 Languedocienne.
By Air: Perpignan Airport is the nearest (Ryanair, Flybe etc) closely followed by Girona (N. Spain), also Ryanair, about 55 minutes, Beziers (Ryanair) 55 minutes, Carcassonne ( 1.5 hours), Montpellier and Nimes (1.5-2 hours). Toulouse Airport is another good alternative.
By Train: The nearest station is Perpignan - for tickets please refer to www.rail-europe.co.uk.
