The Lake Jozini/Shiselweni region

ThIs region of Swaziland borders with South Africa near Pongola. It is lowveld bushveld and is mild in winter - with no rain fall generally from May to September (a good time for game viewing). Day time temperatures are mild but it is cool at night. Summer rainfall is usually from October to April and mostly comes by way of afternoon thunderstorms. It is a rural area of small villages and farms and still a place where you can see traditional thatched Swazi huts.

Royal Jozini Big 6 Estate has 5 eco systems and is part of the Lake Jozini Transfrontier Park (border fences are not yet down) and the Reserve is earmarked for the Big 5 - with Number 6 being the tiger fish in the lake.

Set against the backdrop of the Lebombo Mountains, Royal Jozini is not only a nature lover's paradise, but also offers tiger sport fishing.
