Royal Jozini Ekuthuleni Lodge
House | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Ekuthuleni Lodge (a place of peace) is set in open bushveld where the giraffe like to browse and are often seen. It has wonderful mountain views from each bedroom and living room building and has been designed to maximise the enjoyment of this special setting. The living area is an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area opening onto a covered deck which faces east and is shady and cool in the afternoons. There is a walkway to the boma set under a spreading acacia tree where you can sit around the fire to chat with friends after a day in the bush.
Each bedroom is in its own separate building and each has a deck facing the Lebombo Mountains. Each bathroom has an outdoor shower - but made private by a wooden fence enclosure.
The equipped kitchen has a gas stove and fridge/freezer and a housekeeper comes in daily.

The Lake Jozini/Shiselweni region
Southern Swaziland is a rural area of farms and villages and is largely typical lowveld bushveld. Swaziland is a small country where topography ranges from highveld and mountains to the hot lowveld region, typical of Big 5 country where Royal Jozini Big 6 is.
In the Sishelweni district, traditional thatched Swazi huts can be seen with herds of cattle and goats graze and where family homes cluster amidst the small fields of mealies which form the basic food.
The climate is mild and dry throughout winter (but temperatures can drop drastically at night time). The dry winter minths are from May to Septamber, whilst summer rains fall from October to April. These are generally in the form of afternoon thunder storms.
Royal Jozini is a proclaimed Big 5 Game Reserve and forms part of the Lake Jozini Transfrontier Park.
As this was the king's cattle ranch, original game is being re-introduced and is flourishing in this pristine bushveld.
Giraffe, wildebeest, kudu, nyala, waterbuck, impala, duiker, bushbuck, steenbuck, warthog and jackal are regularly seen and there are some 450 bird species recorded in the area.
