Le Nouvalaie, a peaceful, secluded farmhouse offering accommodation for up to 6 people, is located in the lovely Mayenne countryside near Laval . Nestled in its own 20 acres of secluded fields, woodland and lakes, this beautiful and very typical French farmhouse is available all year round. When you book Le Nouvalaie you will have not only the large farmhouse to yourself but also the whole farm to run around on and enjoy.

Le Nouvalaie is just 3km from the nearest villages of Juvigne and Le Bourgneuf la Foret and approx 10 km from Laval (twin town with Boston Lincs) with its 27 hole golf course, go karting tracks and beautiful chateaus on the river Mayenne - a haven for walkers, cyclists and horse riders alike. The area is generally warmer than the UK, and the seasons start about 3 weeks earlier and finish a month later than UK. April and May can be very pleasant and warm months and June, July and August are usually hot .

The Loire Valley / Mayenne region

If you are after, a tranquil and relaxing holiday (with the option of outdoor adventure for the more energetic members of the family), in glorious uncrowded countryside then Mayenne is the place to explore. La Nouvalaie is in the department of Mayenne bordered by Anjou, Normandy and Brittany only about 2 to 3 hours travel from the ferry ports, 3 to 4 hours from Paris, about 1½ hours from Dinard and Tours airport (cheap Ryan Air flights) and about ¾ hr from Rennes.

Laval area

La Nouvalaie is approximately 2 hours from the Vendee, the historic fishing port of La Rochelle , an 1 ½ from the Dordogne and about 5 hours from Bordeaux and only 20 minutes from the beautiful town of Laval.

Laval, a town of great food, great wine, family fun, art and history is a place where life can be enjoyed to the full. Laval life is centred around its beautiful river where activities take place throughout the long summer months. Laval is close to Le Mans - famous for the 24 hour race held every June, Le Man's Musee de L'Automobile is also worth visiting with its superb collection of race winners up to the present day.

Angers is only about an hours drive away with its superb and highly acclaimed Chateau d'Angers. Discover the world's largest medieval tapestry which tells the story of the Apocalypse according to St John or travel a little further to Rochemenier near Saumer and visit the troglodyte museum travelling back to a time to when 75% of the population of Angers and Saumur lived in caves!

if you like horses visit Saumer - see the famous Cadre Noir horses performing at the Ecole Nationale d'Equitation.

Locally there is a 27 hole golf course, carp fishing (permits easily arranged and very cheap), horse riding, horse racing, swimming, tennis courts, pretty villages with great pubs(!), go kart racing, good supermarkets and lots lots more.

Set in 20 acres of pasture land there is plenty of space to let your hair down. For the active, La Nouvalaie has lots to offer. There is a badminton court, golf clubs for practising your driving skills , darts, boules and fishing - there is even a large trampoline! Two lakes, safely set a distance from the house, complete the picture.
The English speaking owner will be on hand to settle you in and advise as required but the farmhouse and the land will yours to enjoy.
