Built for the Baron's love of hunting, the cottage is over 150years old and has been renovated to keep its orginal charm. The exposed stone work and huge beams are abundant and the huge stone fireplace with the Baron's family crest on it adds to the ambience of the property. The log burner is a welcome addition to the lounge. The cottage feels like home from home and much thought has gone into providing everything a client would need whilst holidaying at this gorgeous venue.
All the upstair windows look out onto uninterupted views of the beautiful french countryside.

Situated within 25 acres, this private country estate is an ideal venue to see so much wildlife and birds. Following the paths carved out within the woods you may see the deer whcih roam freely and the woodland walk is just yards from the lakeside cottage. There are outside tables and chairs and a bbq for your use.
The 2acre lake could not be classed as a "big carp-fishery" but has been purposely designed to be an all round, well-balanced fishing water suitable for beginners, families and expert anglers alike.
The lake is 1½acres in size and upto 2 metres deep, it also features 2 islands. The quality of fishing available is second to none as there is a diversity of fish for the angler to catch.
The lake boasts carp upto 50lbs including Commons and Mirrors with many fully-scaled too. As well as a plethora of Coarse fish such as specimen Tench, Perch and Roach, the lake is complimented by a well managed stock of Pike and double-figured Zander plus Stergeon upto 30lbs
.
You and Your party will have exclusive use of the lake, splash pool and cottage.
The Loire Valley / Mayenne region
The Loire Valley is known for its beautiful Chateaus, parks and gardens. There is an abundance of Historic towns and villages and plenty of musems and traditional french markets to visit. The vine yards are an excellent place to
sample wine.
The Laval / Meral area
Laval is a major town less than half an hours drive away. Laval has a number of museums, busy boutiques and restaurants as well as a traditional market. The Chateau at Laval overlooks the river Mayenne, where you can hire a boat for a trip down the river.
Chateau Gontier is a beautiful 4 star Ville Fleurie (Town of Flowers) on the Mayenne river which has a large street and cattle market each Thursday.
REFUGE DE L'ARCHE
A small and friendly animal refuge / sanctuary which houses about 1500 animals of around 150 different species in over 450 hectares.
CHOCOLATE FACTORY
An absolute must. Tour the factory and taste the chocolate. There are two to choose from, one in Chateau Gontier and one in Laval.
The town of Craon has a magnificent 18th century Chateau with 42 hectares of parkland to explore.
COSSE LE VIVIEN
Here you will find the Museum of Robert Tatin. Fantastic architecture created by Robert Tatin (1902-1983). Paintings, designs, ceramics testify to this artist's diverse creativity.
MONT ST. MICHAEL
The clean sandy beach at Mont Saint Michael is 90 minutes away, and is famous for its abbey and walled city at the end of a causeway out in the sea. As well as exploring the abbey, there are many great shops and restaurants.
GOLF
There are numerous golf courses between 45 minutes and a hour away from the venue.
PARIS
Enjoy a day in the capital city of France. Take the TGV (fast trains) from either Vitre in 2 hours or Laval in 1 hour 45 minutes.
