Home description

Casa Marina is set on higher grounds nestled in an extensive olive yard at 2 km from the centre of Lavagna/Chiavari and the mediterrean sea. A few external stone steps take you to the large panoramic terrace which is furnished with deckchairs and a shadowed table for alfesco dining and barbecue facilities. What about having breakfast in the early morning sun, with the birds singing and in the distance the surf of the sea? You will enjoy a beautiful view over the Tigullia Bay from Portofino to Sestri Levante.

The house is exceptionally well furnished. On the ground floor are the living room with sitting corner and dining table, and satTV, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher etc , extra WC, laundry room . On the first is the double bedroom , single bedroom, bathroom with shower. Car parking in front of the house . Fenced property.

The North West Italy / Italian Riviera/Liguria region

Both in summer and WINTER (we have a very temperate climate) you will visit the monthly antique market in Chiavari, dine and shop in trendy Santa Margherita, have a stroll in Portofino and go to the old town of Genua. the CINQUE TERRE you reach in about 30 mins . Who has not heard of Monterosso, Vernazza, Riomaggiore with the Via dell'Amore? People travel from far to experience the hiking trails winding through vineyards and bushes with deep down the blue-green sea. There are also comfortable boatservices taking you all along to Portovenere and La Spezia.

Lavagna area

Lavagna and Chiavari are grown together and have a very pleasant boulevard with gardens, palmtrees, oleanders, playgrounds for children and large harbours for sailing and motor boats. Anny luxury type of boat you will admire in the harbour. ( and envy the owner). The town has cosy archaded shopping streets, good restaurants and a lot of local dishes you should try. The wine of this region is excellent. The hills behind covered with oliveyards and the small villages up in the mountains are worth exploring.

How to get there

From airport Genua ( 40 km) or Milan ( 200 km) Bergamo ( 200 km) , by car in autostrada exit Lavagna or by train to Lavagna.

From New York fly to Nice, follow Genoa.
