Villa Baumschule: a typical Ligurian villa, built in the eighties in a private resort composed by similar houses, high up on the hill above Cavi Borgo (old part of Cavi di Lavagna) with breathtaking panoramic views down to the sea and Portofino peninsula. Cavi borgo, today a district of Lavagna, a coastal town between Sestri Levante and Chiavari, 30 min (by train) from Portofino and Cinque Terre.

The villa is located in an enviable south-west facing position, looking toward the Ponente coast and Portofino peninsula: around a protected park, with typical mediterranean scrub. The fenced garden with barbecue and most of the windows have all seaview going to western promontory of Portofino. Villa Baumschule is composed of a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, a large dining - living room and 3 bedrooms.

Villa Baumschule with its enclosed garden is the right place for rest and recreation. In summer there is a private minibus service down 800 m to the beaches of Cavi di Lavagna but, if desired, a stroll down 800 m to the village along the see, on a trail in the middle of beautiful gardens and olive trees, can be extremely relaxing (takes about 10 minutes ).

Die Baumschule, with its sheltered south facing terrace is favoured by the mild climate of the Ligurian Levante coast and thus particularly suitable in spring, autumn or winter for beach, culture or hiking holidays: in the surroundings you have real jewels at hand, namely Cinque Terre fisherman's villages and Portofino, with a string of luxury places and a beautiful promenade.

The North West Italy region

The region enjoys a beautiful seaside with beaches and small places to swim: the hills are covered with typical mediterranean scrub and fields olive trees (oil production is a major economic topic and a favorite activity).

Tigullio gulf, where Cavi is located, is a quiet turistic area, surrounded by a protected wood (Parco del Tigullio).

Its main attractives are Portofino peninsula, where it is possible to enjoy unforgettable promenades in the park and swim in the crystal clear waters of Cala D'Oro, Punta Chiappa and S. Fruttuoso.

In case you don't feel like to tackle the trail, a daily boat service takes you to these places leaving from S. Margherita or Chiavari.

Another favorite target is Cinque Terre trail, connecting Monterosso, Corniglia, Vernazza, Riomaggiore and Manarola, old fisherman's villages: the trail is about 30 Km long, but in any village it is possible to take a train to come back to the starting point if desired.

The villages are quite picturesque, and it is possible there to have lunch and sip cool white wine produced in the surrounding sloping hills (Sciacchetrà).

Even if the holiday here can be veeery quiet and sporty, just 1 km downhill from the villa there's a hektik night life in Sestri Levante, Santa Margherita e Portofino, with their luxury boutiques.

Also Chiavari and Lavagna offer covered promenades (a.k.a. Portici) dating back to XIV age, with a string of picturesque shops.

It is possible in the surroundings to find plenty of restaurants, specialized in the local dishes (which are based on fishing, hunting and agricultural produce), with some very typical delicatessen (pansotti, trofie al pesto, capon magro, cima alla genovese, focaccia)
