A very popular and private 3 bedroom farmhouse with open plan kitchen, living and dining area with an easily accessible outside terrace and bar area perfect for nightly BBQ's and pleasurable outside summer evenings . Ideally situated for the extremely popular town of Eymet with it's organized evenings and entertainment all through the summer. Surrounded by villages with daily markets and medieval festivals and banquets. 5 minutes from local tennis courts and only 20 minutes from the nearest golf course. The house is equipped with satelite t.v, dvd and video player. It also has internet connection in the master bedroom.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Lot et Garonne region

The nearest village to Pontet is Lauzun (two minutes away). This village is an historic and architecturally interesting town with a large Chateau, a Church and many interesting 12th/13th century buildings. Lauzun has all the shops that you will require, including a pharmacy, post office, bank, small supermarket, 2 restaurants, bar, boulangerie, butchers and newsagents. Lauzun also has a lovely lake and tennis courts. The beautiful historic medieval Bastide towns of Castillonnes, Eymet, Villereal, Monflanquin and Monpazier are all within easy reach. All local towns hold markets selling local produce at least once a week, and really come alive during the summer months with evening markets, street carnivals and medieval festivals. We are on the edge of the Bergerac vineyards and not far from the Bordeaux and Duras wine regions. Most of the local vineyards offer wine tasting on site. The attractions of the Dordogne, it's river, villages and famous caves are easily accessible.

Food, wine & local attractions
We are on the edge of the Bergerac vineyards with Duras and Bordeaux vineyards a little further away, giving of hundreds of opportunities to visit, taste and buy wine. There are leisure lakes at Lougratte (15km) and Miramont (8 km) with swimming, sporting & leisure activities for all ages.

The area offers many restaurants and bars: Castillonnes has 5 restaurants with a variety of menus, Lalandusse (6km) has a small restaurant, Issigeac (15 km) has 5 restaurants and Eymet (8km) has 7 restaurants.

Other local activities include, go-karting, horse riding, donkey & trap hire, tennis and rambling. Further afield there is a theme park in Agen called Parc Walibi, an adventure park 'Parc-en-Ciel' nr Lacapelle Biron, The Aquarium and Artisan Village at Le Bugue and the famous Lascaux Caves at Montignac.

In Bergerac there is an Aquapark, crazy golf and canoes for hire on the River Dordogne.

There is also a Driving Range at the Centre de Golf Bergeracois (at Bergerac).

Notes to the rental rates

We require a £250 refundable security deposit. Arrival time from 4pm. Departure time by 10am. We require a 25% Deposit to secure your booking with the balance payable no later than 10 weeks before the first day of your holiday. Bookings made within 10 weeks of your first day of rental are to be paid in full. On receipt of your booking form and all appropriate payments, we will send a confirmation invoice to the party leader. We also require a £250 security deposit which must be sent with the final payment. This will be returned after your stay subject to any sum held against breakages. We can accept payment by bank transfer or sterling cheque.

The property is managed and maintained by Geraldine who will be available to deal with all enquiries before and after booking Pontet and during your stay. We will be close by if you have any problems but we will always respect your privacy.
