Chateau Des Mautors is a unique property, which sits high in the valley with the most beautiful views. This beautiful chateau has been renovated and converted into five apartments to offer lovely holiday accommodation for friends and family groups. The apartments can be booked for groups of 16 or larger groups of up to 26 people making Chateau des Mautors ideal for large family gatherings, anniversaries, birthdays or just good friends wanting to have fun.
Each apartment has its own kitchen and sitting room, so that groups can have privacy if they want, as well as having the space and facilities for everyone to join in together. The rooms are all a good size, and are all decorated with good, solid, comfortable furniture.
We have a large games room where you or the kids can cool off if it gets too hot outside. It has a full size snooker table, table football a,d table tennis, as well as a piano if anyone fancies a sing song! We have a television with DVD

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Lot et Garonne region
Situated in beautiful rolling countryside midway between the Dordogne and Lot rivers, the nearest town to Mautors is the historic town of Castillonnes which is 4 miles away, and dates back to the 14th century. It is full of old stone houses, cloisters , and timber framed houses, as well as having all the shops you would need, a large supermarket and a choice of several excellent restaurants.
Larger towns nearby are Bergerac and Villeneuve Sur Lot. Bergerac has its own airport and has several flights a day from Southampton, Stansted, and Manchester, and where cars can be rented very easily, it is roughly 25 minutes from Mautors.
Villeneuve Sur Lot is another interesting town steeped in history, with interesting architecture, and good restaurants, and is a nice day out for the ladies to wander around the shops!
Lauzun area
Each nearby town has a market day selling local produce, arts and crafts, and clothing, always a hit with our guests, and in high season there is a night market each week in Eymet, where you can sit down and eat Mussels, barbecued duck, Foie gras, and other delicacies and wash it down with some of the local red, white and rosé, while the youngsters can wander off and find a few souvenirs.
There are a good selection of restaurants for those who want to try out local french cuisine, or Chambre D'Hote for those who want to have a go at the classic french experience of eating at a farm where at least half of what you eat has to be produced on the premises. We have an excellent one in the village where groups can eat classy food at rock bottom prices, with aperitifs, wine and liqueurs thrown in . Not for the fainthearted! As well as loads of Chateaux, Museums, and towns to visit, we have a very good horse riding stable on our doorstep.
For those who need to keep their children amused, there are aerial walks through the trees, where children can test their skills in total safety (as well as adults!) , and ofcourse there is plenty of choice canoeing, guaranteed to raise many a laugh, messing around on the river!

Further details indoors: Three of the apartments are for 4 people and located in the west tower, (each measuring 65 sq. metres). They each have a double bedroom and twin (with an extra bed available on request), an open plan sitting/dining room and a fitted kitchen with oak cupboards.
Apartment four is for 8 people and occupies the first and second floor of the east tower. With a private staircase from the ground floor, the first floor has a sitting/dining room with corner kitchen and dishwasher. The bedrooms include two en-suite doubles and two twin bedrooms, with separate bathrooms.
Apartment five occupies the whole of the first floor middle section of the chateau and sleeps six people. There is a sitting/dining room with a corner kitchen and the bedrooms include two en-suite double bedrooms and an en-suite twin ( with an extra bed available on request).
Further details outdoors: Chateau des Mautors is set in 8 acres of grounds, and sits high on a hill with stunning views over the valley, the perfect place to spend an evening relaxing, barbecuing and tasting the local wines. There is a 13 m X 6m swimming pool, with sun loungers, volley ball and petanque in the garden, and more importantly loads of room for children to run around and have a good time.
