About this location
The Midi-Pyrénées region
La Maison d'Iris is ideally located in the beautiful Quercy Blanc area of the Tarn et Garonne, with many beautiful bastide villages on the doorstep. The charming hill top medieval bastide village of Lauzerte, with its outstanding views across stunning landscapes, is only a 15-minute drive away. The Quercy countryside is beautifully populated by rows of vines, orchards and fields of sunflowers, marking the region out as one that enjoys long, hot summers.
Situated close by are many other picture-postcard villages such as Penne D'Agenais, Tournon D'Agenais, Montaigu De Quercy, Montcuq, all with their own unique atmosphere. These beautiful villages also host their own local markets, where you can purchase local produce or simply sit back enjoying a coffee or a glass of wine in a little café, watching the world go by.
Further afield, there are many other beautiful attractions. For wine tasting, visit Cahors, famous for its “black” wine. You could take a day out to visit the city of Toulouse, well known for its “pink” brick buildings and the incredible Place du Capitole. Around 90 minutes away, is one of France's most famous world heritage sites - Rocamadour. Rocamadour, built on the cliffside of a canyon with the River Alzou flowing below, is a popular destination with 1.5 million visits every year. The village was built in the Middle Ages after the discovery of what was believed to be the body of St Amator.

"Stunning French farmhouse with luxorious pool and beautiful gardens"
We thought the villa would be nice based upon the pictures but even they didn't do it justice because it is an absolute gem - a beautiful French house with stunning interiors, exquisite furniture and lovely modern bathrooms. We were particularly impressed with the newly fitted kitchen which unlike other holiday rentals is stocked really well with a beautiful dining service and kitchen utensils. The gardens are a real haven of tranquility and are a perfect backdrop to a lovely pool. The guests, John and Tan couldn't have been more friendly and even made us a lemon cake to welcome us - they were a perfect balance of being welcoming and kind whilst also giving us the space we wanted to enjoy a quiet family holiday. I would recommend this to anyone who has children too as they equipped the house with a high-end cot and high-chair along with plastic glasses, plates and plenty of pool tools to keep the children happy. If you are thinking of booking - do!
Hi Seb and Annie. We really appreciate the lovely review your have written and are so glad you all enjoyed your holiday with us at La Maison d'Iris. We loved having you here and hope one day we will see you all again. Thanks Tan and John

What a hidden gem... We were recommended this place through a friend and it didn't disappoint. The house was perfect and lovely quiet location. Our hosts made our stay even better, they are both very warm and welcoming and would do anything to help you. They had thought of everything which made it such a stress free break.
We had two meals cooked for us by John and Tan, and it was amazing, better than a lot of resturants we have had dinner in.. A must if you stay there!! We will Defintley be back with our daughters...
