Home description

Just 1 mile from Polyphant is the home of the Wagon House. This semi-detached property is part of a barn conversion which offers spacious and welcoming accommodation for a party of up to four people. The conversion uses a mix of modern and traditional styles to create an idyllic atmosphere in equally-idyllic surroundings. The garden, shared with the adjoining conversion, has its own carp pond and plenty of scope for summer barbecues or alfresco dining. Free-range chickens roam the land freely and you can either buy freshly-laid eggs from the farm or organise with the owner to collect your own. Whether you are interested in beaches, countryside or historical artefacts, the Wagon House is a more-than-suitable location from which to explore Cornwall.

The West Country / Cornwall region

Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Or could it be the cliff-top theatre at Mynack, working harbours, the world famous Eden project or St Michaels Mount, cut off from the mainland by a causeway. Or even the endless activities on offer; the Camel Cycling and Walking Trail, stunning coastal paths or the National Surf Centre at Newquay’s Fistral beach. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.


Launceston / Polyphant area

It is a very small village just 5 miles from Launceston and gives access to many of the major attractions in the area. History-fans will be fascinated by Launceston’s Norman Castle which is open to the public from April to October each year. Close to Launceston, you can also enjoy the natural splendour of the Tamar Valley, as well as the many museums, gardens, wildlife centres and maritime centres. Bodmin Moor lies a short drive to the west, offering stunning panoramas, walks and hidden villages across its rugged landscape. 14 miles to the north, you can encounter the beaches that make Cornwall such a famous and popular tourist destination. Surfing, fishing and other water-sports are very popular here, but you could just choose to relax and soak up the sun.

The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.

'Last Minute Breaks' (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the 'LOW', 'MID', 'HIGH', 'PEAK', 'XMAS' and 'NEW YEAR' periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

,We had a fantastic holiday. The Wagon House was excellent, very clean with everything we needed and the lady who owns it was really lovely and brought us bread, farm eggs, milk, tea and coffee for our arrival which was really great. It was also in a great location, central to most of the places we visited. We will definitely go back next year and also recommend it to family and friends.
