A babbling brook meanders through the grounds, past the wildlife pond and continues along the picturesque nature trail, which is a DEFRA assigned access, recognised for its archaeological interest and unique setting. This nature trail leads you through a beautiful valley of dramatic stone outcrops and blossoming gorse. In the Spring, the bright yellow gorse and white blossom of the blackthorn contrast with the stunning grey slate rocks. Later in early Summer the hillside is adorned with purple foxgloves. Indulge your imagination as you absorb the natural beauty and unique tranquility whilst you wander along this unspoilt haven for nature where you can glimpse magnificent birds of prey, flocks of lapwing and much more. After nearly half a mile of wending stream you will be delighted at the discovery of another wildlife pond, playing host to a wealth of pondlife, including dragonflies, striking turquoise damselflies and swallows as they dip and dive across the shimmering water.
