Tucked away in a quiet rural location and enjoying views over Kensey Valley and the surrounding countryside, these superb adjoining apartments situated in a converted stone barn, lie within the grounds of the owners' farmhouse. Set amongst open countryside, they have been renovated to a very high standard and offer excellent holiday accommodation - perfect for exploring the South West of England - both coast and countryside. Fronted by an attractive box lined formal courtyard garden with areas to BBQ and two 3 acre secure fenced paddocks which are ideal for walking your dogs, visitors will find plenty of space to relax and unwind. The apartments offer an ideal base for touring both Devon and Cornwall, and are within only 5 minutes of the A30 – the main artery of Cornwall. Centrally located between north and south coasts, it is not more than a 25-minute drive from a selection of good sandy beaches ideal for rock pooling, surfing and dog walking. To the North West, Boscastle and Tintagel, the small sandy cove of Trebarwith Strand and Crackington Haven, and to the South, Polpero and Looe have some of the most spectacular coastal walks in the area can be found. Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor are within easy reach as are several magnificent National Trust properties and gardens.

The popular Eden Project is also easily accessible. Historic Launceston, once the capital of Cornwall, offers a medieval castle, a selection of shops, a very rare Steam Railway and Priory ruins. There are two excellent golf courses within 4 minutes drive, Launceston and Trethorne. St Mellion International Resort offering a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, swimming pool and health Spa - as well as every other form of fitness care and pampering - just 30 minutes away. Skyber, our largest apartment extends across the full length of the barn on the first floor. Accessed via ten timber steps to entrance door – once the original hay storage entrance – you enter a large, spacious, original vaulted and beamed open-plan living/dining room with fabulous wood-burning stove. A full width glazed screen of picture windows boasting countryside views with cosy sofa and two lounge chairs with rug over solid wild oak floor. Modern kitchen area with solid cherry units with stable door to outside and antique pine dining table with chairs. Large 40" television with free view and DVD player and radio/CD player. Two steps lead up to the sleeping areas. The Master Bedroom has a 5ft wide mahogany and basket weaved oriental style sleigh bed, original open beamed vaulted ceiling and antique dressing table and chest of drawers. On the left of the bed is a dressing room with hanging rail and suitcase storage space, to the right, an en-suite bathroom with thermostatic shower over the whirlpool bath, porcelain wash hand basin, toilet and chrome towel rail. The cosy twin bedroom with two single beds is accessed via the double bedroom suitable for two children with privacy curtains. A separate toilet facility and coats room in the open plan living area completes the apartment accommodation. This apartment has a private courtyard garden with table and chairs, portable BBQ available upon request.

Launceston, the historic gateway capital of Cornwall, is a quiet market town with a castle and ancient priory remains. Launceston has much to offer including two fine golf courses, arts and craft workshops at Cowslip, horse riding, indoor climbing centre, and a leisure centre with swimming pool. Trethorne Leisure Farm offers extensive indoor and outdoor childrens entertainment including tenpin bowling and bumper cars. Walkers are within easy reach of both Bodmin moor and Dartmoor National Park, cyclists can find routes for as long or short as they choose from our doorstep. Dog walkers - those whom are immune to the Cornish weather conditions - can choose from the hundreds of square miles inland or extensive linear milage of the blustery coastal walks. Central to both North and South coasts you are in the best location to explore coast or countryside. Those whom love underwater wildlife - rock pooling and crabbing at Widemouth Bay is excellent. National Trust houses and beautiful gardens are within easy reach. "Lovely barn conversion"

"Fantastic accommodation and location, very friendly hosts ... Recommended"

Travelled with my wife and our 3 yr old boy. Skyber is the top floor of the lovely well appointed barn conversion located up approx 10 wooden steps. The accommodation is very comfortable and well appointed. We had plenty of room to spread out for the three of us. We had a fantastic stay and hope to be back.

It is well situated to visit the north coast around Bude, Padstein etc. and also to go south to Plymouth and the Eden project. Getting from Skyber down to Truro took approx 55 minutes.

The owners, Fiona and David, are very friendly and wiling to offer excellent advice of places to go. Their dogs gave a very warm welcome the times we saw them.

They also have free range chickens and we bought some eggs plus they have a small flock of sheep, highland cattle and a couple of pigs on site. There are 2 large grass paddocks, one of which was available to play ball games in/exercise dogs etc. the sheep and cattle were in the second paddock.

The directions to the accommodation are pretty good but can be supplemented by knowing the name of the "cream cottage" in the directions is Beechcroft and it has tiles on the wall you first see, the wall facing the road is cream. Also note that there is a second property called Landrends (no access/relation to Skyber) located on the same road part way down the hill into Launceston.

"Superb barn apartment - highly recommended"

fantastic quality barn with all the mod cons; super clean and well laid out - we thought it was a brand new conversion (actually been available for 5 plus years). hosts are super friendly and I would recommend you try there farm sausages and fresh eggs available on site.

great location for the rest the usual tourist locations

has a glorious wood burner next to the flat screen TV - returning from a hard day holidaying is really nice with that going.

cannot recommend it highly enough! we will be going back...
