John and Alison Werren welcome guests to these luxury barn conversions full of rustic charm in a beautiful river valley setting. The spacious and well-equipped accommodation offers a relaxing atmosphere with plenty of country walks beside the river and through the fields. There is also a lot of wildlife to see including kingfishers, sandmartins, buzzards and herons, maybe an otter or skylark. You can also watch the wildlife on and around the river from the large hide overlooking the River Ottery on the Devon and Cornwall boundary. There are webcams set up to capture the wildlife around the farm which can be viewed on the TV in your cottage, you may be lucky enough to watch swallows eggs hatching in the nest or bats leaving an old barn. A wonderful centre for visiting Cornwall and Devon. Many all year round attractions are within easy travelling distance, including The Eden Project (purchase discounted fast track tickets available from farmhouse), Plymouth Aquarium, Morwellham Quay and King Arthur's Castle at Tintagel.

Leisure facilities: visitors can try their hand at clay pigeon shooting or fishing (both fly and coarse) on the beautiful River Ottery, or on the smaller Boles Bridge stream, which meander though the farm. Close at hand is the safely enclosed heated outdoor swimming pool (May - September). Visitors can experience Classic British Motorcycles when guided by John through the delightful North Cornwall scenery. Bikes include BSA, Norton, Triumph, Panther and Ariel (bring own insurance, licence and protective clothing please). Farm activities: meet the farm animals on this organic farm. Play facilities: giant sandpit, games room (with pool tables, football table and books and games) and orchard playing field. Amenities: ample off-road parking. Bed linen, electric, central heating and Wi-Fi included. Towels for hire. Cot and highchair available on request. Regret no smoking. Location: beach 12 miles, supermarket 4 miles and pub 3 miles.

The largest of the Cottages with unique features such as a minstrels gallery, bespoke stained glass windows and the original farm haypole for decoration. Offering FOUR bedrooms: 2 king-size and 1 twin bedroom, all with en-suite shower rooms and WC (twin bedroom situated on the ground floor) and 1 bunk bedroom. Bathroom: with WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan on ground floor, featuring a huge antique farmhouse dining table, and lounge area with woodburner effect gas fire, flatscreen TV with Freeview and DVD. Kitchen area includes a gas hob and Rayburn, microwave, large American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Outside: french doors from the lounge area open onto a sunny and private walled patio area with seating and BBQ. Amenities: regret no pets. Fitted stairgates. Additional info: disabled access, ramps and shower chair available on request. Option of interlinking with WATCS to provide a total of 8 bedrooms, sleeping 16. Arrival: 3.30pm.

"Great facilities, perfect location as a base to explore Cornwall"

Great holiday let, superb facilities and lovely warm welcome from the owners. Open plan, lots of space, comprehensive cooking and washing facilities. Nice bedrooms with ensuite facilities, although showers in upstairs bedrooms were quite constricted, also worth noting if you prefer sleeping in darkened room an eye mask is a must as lots of light streams through the skylights in the early hours! Shared facilities include outdoor pool (solar powered heating though, so not that warm in September!) and games room which smelt quite damp and wasn't somewhere we chose to use. Location wise this place was excellent for exploring Cornwall - less than an hour from Eden Project and Newquay, close to Bude, Tintagel etc. and a lovely little otter sanctuary to visit a mile or two down the road. Pubs, eateries etc are all a drive away - don't expect to walk to your local! Perfect for a quiet, chilled out break.
