Cottage | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
Situated amid the beautiful Cornish Countryside is Higher Scarsick appealing to both Couples & Families. It is ideally situated for all that Cornwall has to offer and only a short drive to the golden sands and rugged Cornish coastline for example Crackington Haven. Boscastle and Port Issac (Doc Martin filmed here) are both little gems to explore and Tintagel renowned for its myths and legends and Widemouth Bay for surfing and beach da
Located just 1 hours drive from M5 at Exeter and then dual carriageway to last 8 miles making it very accessable for all parts of the country.
The cottage has been renovated over recent years and has retained many original features, including oak beams, stone inglenooks and a bread oven. It is well furnished and very well equipped making it a holiday home for all seasons of the year.
Step outside to a large garden where you can hear the birds singing and enjoy the stunning views, and if you care to take a short walk down the lane there is a small stream which is particularly beautiful in the spring and Autumn.
The spring of the year is my favourite, trees are bursting to life again and the roads and lanes surrounding the farm are pickled with wild flowers and the fields a beautiful colour green many with small lambs frolicing around.
I suppose Cornwall Summer Beach are 3 words that go together. We are very fortunate to have superb coastline just a short distance from the cottage. Enjoy Surfing and swimming and maybe a little coastal walking to take in the stunning views and if there are small children many of the beaches have rock pools which are warm and safe and they can build endless sandcastles with the golden sands. Return to the cottage for a barbeque away from the crowds.
Things are a little quieter in the Autumn but coastal activities can still be enjoyed to the full as well perhaps as visiting many of the National Trust or English heritage sites Cornwall has. The cottage is situated ideally for all that Cornwall has to offer on both North and South coast and very well equipped making its return to a warm and cosy atmosphere very appealing.
Enjoy bird watching and wildlife spotting. Our farm adjoins a forestry a disused railway line and stream which gives plenty of opportunties for both activities.
if you love the Countryside Higher Scarsick is the place for you many of my guests return year after year to a very warm welcome. We are on hand (in the adjoining cottage) to sort out any problems that may arise (which thankfully is hardly ever) and to give direction and suggestions for days out. Or if you just want to relax and chill out we will not bother you.
Please note there is internet access in the cottage but it can be a bit tempermental so would not advise if you wish to work during your holiday
Please send an email if you would like information on any activity or advice on any thing Cornwall has to offer and I will do my very best to help you all that I can.
