A lovely detached holiday cottage 10 minutes drive from Pendine Beach and set in its own courtyard just a mile outside of the village of Laugharne in Carmarthenshire.

There is an enclosed courtyard garden which can be accessed via the front door or the French doors off the living area. The owners are happy for you to enjoy their large well maintained garden and the 5 acres of pasture land they own (subject to grazing animals).

There is off road parking for two cars.

Just 8 miles from Carmarthen, Laugharne is famous for it's association with Dylan Thomas-Welsh poet and writer. You can discover the magic of Laugharne with three of its famous attractions, all associated with the great Welsh poet and writer Dylan Thomas.

* The lovely two-mile Dylan Thomas Birthday Walk is the setting for one of his best loved works, Poem in October, in which he vividly describes a stroll around Laugharne on his 30th birthday.

* When Dylan and Caitlin arrived in Laugharne they dreamed of living in the Boathouse, set idyllically on the Taf Estuary. Dylan lived there with his family from 1949 to 1953. The Boathouse is now a museum, containing lots of memorabilia and much of the original furniture.

* There's not a pub in Laugharne that can't claim to have some Dylan Thomas connection. But it was in the airy bay window of Browns Hotel that he spent many happy lost afternoons, drinking his pint of Buckley's, writing, reading the papers, and bantering with his drinking companions. Now the hotel has been restored and reborn as a five-star boutique hotel and oozes a subtle 1940s/50s glamour.

There are also some interesting shops, restaurants and pubs as well as the magnificent Norman castle.

A little further down the coast you will find Pendine Sands with a 7 mile beach. Aberglasney Gardens, the National Botanic Garden of Wales and Ffos Las racecourse are also all within easy driving distance.

Carmarthenshire region

Laugharne sits on the banks of the Taf River in Carmarthenshire, South Wales and is where Dylan Thomas ” Wales' most famous poet lived.

It is an ancient town steeped in history housing the dramatic ruins of a Norman Castle. The Castle has been the subject of considerable archaeological investigation and gradual restoration and, with the well-maintained Georgian and Victorian gardens, is open to the public from April to the end of September.

There are a number of good restaurants and pubs in the village and you are only 10 minutes away from the fabulous beach at Pendine.

"Delightful cottage - would definatley stay again"

The cottage is away from the owners property so you have privacy - it has a small enclosed garden which was perfect for our dog. The cottage was lovely and clean and held everything that we may need - including tea, coffee and milk waiting for us on arrival. I cannot say anything bad about our stay - we were welcomed on arrival from the owner Sarah and we will be definitely returning next year. The village of Laugharne is only about 1 mile away and has lots of places to eat. We went to Pendine Sands to take our dog onto the beach which is lovely - our dog Ginny thoroughly enjoyed the long walks as my husband decided to walk the whole length - which I think is about 6-7 miles. Once again thank you Sarah for a lovely visit.

We are so glad you enjoyed your week and that the weather did not spoil it for you. Walking in the rain just means you look forward to getting back to a cosy cottage, a hot drink, and a good film!!

"Wonderful cottage and location"

This cosy cottage is the perfect place for those in need of a break. It's warm, clean and has a beautiful view over the rolling hills. Oh and the bed is AMAZING! We were fortunate enough to have a couple of sunny days which we made the most of by completing a walk around the lovely castle and estuary at Laugharne recommended by the owner. The clear night also made for a spectacular view of the stars - no light pollution here. The cottage and village is perfect for those wishing to escape from the city. Very relaxing. We would highly recommend

Thank you for your lovely review, we are so glad you found some sunshine and were able to see some of the lovely countryside around us. You are right about the stars here, it can be breathtaking on a clear night!

"Loved it"

Warm and welcoming hosts. Cottage was very cosy and had everything needed to make your stay comfortable. Great location for exploring Botanical Gardens, Dylon Thomas's Laugharne and the surrounding area where you will find fantastic beaches at Tenby.
