The Paphos District
Latchi is situated in the North-West corner of Cyprus, nestling between the small picturesque town of Polis (Polis Chrysochous) and the beautiful Akamas peninsula National Park. This is a stunning region of Cyprus, steeped in history and offering wonderful country and coastal walks and cycling.
The main town of the region is Paphos, some 35 kms away. Among its attractions are ancient mosaic floors, a beautiful old harbour and restaurants situated along the promenade. Other sights include an archaeological museum, the Byzantine castle of Paphos, the Tombs of the Kings, St. Paul’s Pillar and the Temple of Aphrodite (the goddess of love and beauty). The coastal route from Latchi to Paphos offers stunning panoramas of the coastline and the distant hills of the Troodos Mountains.
This part of the island possesses all the elements of a perfect holiday location, small sandy beaches that rank high on the list of some of Europe's best, lush natural surroundings, entertainment to suit all tastes and infinite sporting activities for all ages.
Add to this a lovely subtropical climate, where the changes of season are miraculously distinct. Springtime signals colourful splashes of flowers, fruit and fauna. In the summer the wonderful beaches are perfect for sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling in the clear Mediterranean waters. Autumn is the perfect time to experience the sheer, natural beauty of the Akamas Peninsula where the delicate balance of nature is kept intact.
Winter is subtly cooler and within an hour of Latchi the Troodos Mountains offer spectacular scenery. Close by, at the beginning of the Akamas national park (nature reserve) you will find the famous “Baths of Aphrodite”, where, according to legend, Aphrodite, the Goddess of love and beauty, bathed in the pool of a natural grotto under the shade of fig trees.
Latchi / Arsinoe Beach area

The scuba diving and water sports centre in Latchi offers the ideal opportunity to either start lessons in scuba diving or extend your experience in the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean. The centre also offers jet skiing, surfing, waterskiing and snorkeling.
For keen walkers and cyclists, the nearby Akamas National Park offers a veritable paradise of endless walks and cycle ways, wild animals and birds, fauna, fantastic sea views and secluded coves with sandy beaches. Akamas is included in the official UNESCO world's heritage list of cultural and natural treasures. Please note cycles can be hired locally in Polis.
For golfers, there are three quality , panoramic , courses within an hour’s drive, all open to visitors, namely the Aphrodite Hills,.Secret Valley and Tsada Golf Clubs.
Eating out, whether it be lunch or dinner, is one of the real pleasures of holidaying in the region. There are few locations blessed with finer restaurants and tavernas than Latchi and Polis. Guestbook
''Before my wife and I chose Villa Sara, we had looked and searched on the Internet for hours. It's always of course a bit nerve wrecking choosing something blindly. Sure the pictures looked great and the written description was enticing but how would it be in reality? We booked and hoped all would be well, we shouldn't have worried! When we arrived.
Our expectations were completely fulfilled. The villa is in a quiet area, literally a couple of minutes walk to the beach. It's a spacious house with beautiful bedrooms a comfortable sitting room and a well equipped kitchen. Peter the owner, had even made sure that the fridge wasn't empty and to our surprise we found milk, eggs, fresh bread, a selections of conserves and a nice bottle of ice cold local wine. Our first evening was spent sitting on the patio, listening to the waves, totally relaxing. We stayed a week but we are already looking forward to our next visit to Villa Sara."

"We had a really wonderful holiday, thank you. The villa was perfect for our needs and our toddler loved it! You may find a few garden stones in weird and wonderful places so apologies if so! It really is a lovely setting and we both managed to come back to London feeling relaxed and recharged! I will definitely recommend the villa to other friends with small children." LM London.
