The Retreat, near Latchi, Cyprus
Villa | 5 bedrooms | sleeps 8
The Retreat, as the name suggests, is a seductive, secluded hideaway, nestled amongst the unspoilt hillside of the Cypriot countryside. Should the peaceful serenity of this country retreat not be enough, the bustling fishing village of Latchi is no more than 10 minutes drive, or the lively tourist town and attractions of Paphos a 25 minute drive.
The Retreat is not recommended for guests with children under the age of 4 or those who require a lively town or beach location within walking distance. The local villages (including the nearest amenities such as restaurants and shops) and the beach are less than an 10 minute drive away, but are not within walking distance, therefore a car is essential.
For the discerning guest who requires luxury, seclusion and privacy in the most beautiful picturesque surroundings, whether to relax with loved ones or to entertain extended family and close friends, The Retreat is the perfect place for you. The views to the sea are literally breathtaking and can be enjoyed from one of the many terraces or whilst relaxing in the oversized infinity pool.
We offer The Retreat as an exquisite private wedding venue or as a perfect location to host a birthday or anniversary celebration. We can offer a complete management service of the occasion, allowing you to relax with your guests.

The Paphos region
The nearest coastal village to The Retreat is Latchi, approx. 5 minutes by car. Latchi is situated in the North-West corner of Cyprus, nestling between the small picturesque town of Polis (Polis Chrysochous) and the beautiful Akamas peninsula National Park. This is a stunning region of Cyprus, steeped in history and offering wonderful country and coastal walks and cycling.
The main town of the region is Paphos, some 20 kms away. Among its attractions are ancient mosaic floors, a beautiful old harbour and restaurants situated along the promenade. Other sights include an archaeological museum, the Byzantine castle of Paphos, the Tombs of the Kings, St. Paul's Pillar and the Temple of Aphrodite (the goddess of love and beauty). The coastal route from Latchi to Paphos offers stunning panoramas of the coastline and the distant hills of the Troodos Mountains.
This part of the island possesses all the elements of a perfect holiday location, small sandy beaches that rank high on the list of some of Europe's best, lush natural surroundings, and entertainment to suit all tastes and infinite sporting activities for all ages.
Add to this a lovely subtropical climate, where the changes of season are miraculously distinct. In the summer the wonderful beaches are perfect for sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling in the clear Mediterranean waters. Autumn being slightly cooler is the perfect time to experience the sheer, natural beauty of the Akamas Peninsula where the beauty of nature has been kept unspolit.
Winter is subtly cooler and within an hour of Latchi the Troodos Mountains offer spectacular scenery.
Close by, at the beginning of the Akamas national park (nature reserve) you will find the famous “Baths of Aphrodite”, where, according to legend, Aphrodite, the Goddess of love and beauty, bathed in the pool of a natural grotto under the shade of fig trees.
The imposing property is located within a 5 minute drive of the ever popular tourist village of Latchi. Set on the hillside amongst beautiful unspolit countryside, overlooking the beautiful Chrysochous Bay. The Retreat is secluded and private, set in a countryside location with breathtaking views of the coastline, therefore a car is essential.
The Retreat is within a 5 minute drive of the coastal fishing village of Latchi and the tourist attracting marina and harbour. Latchi has many public beaches, boat excursions and fishing trips aswell as seafront restuarants. The popular tourist resort of Paphos is only a 20 minute drive away and offers further family friendly attractions such as a waterpark, zoo, horseriding, beaches and restuarants / bars.
The seaside resort of Latchi with its impressive marina, features an array of inviting sea-front tavernas with a superb selection of fresh fish and seafood served daily. Latchi's once tiny fishing harbour has been transformed into a modern picturesque marina, but it has kept its laid back Cypriot charm. Old stone fronted fish warehouses have been turned into restaurants, tavernas, shops and places of recreation. Mouth watering fresh fish comes straight off the boats and onto the grills of the eateries lining the harbour and beach front.
Latchi harbour is a wonderful location to just relax and soak up the endless sunshine of the Cypriot summer, whether it be swimming in the warm, clear waters of the Mediterranean, sunbathing or watching harbour life from the comfort of a quayside taverna with a cold beer or glass of wine!
The scuba diving and water sports centre in Latchi offers the ideal opportunity to either start lessons in scuba diving or extend your experience in the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean. The centre also offers jet skiing, surfing, waterskiing and snorkeling.
For keen walkers and cyclists, the nearby Akamas National Park offers a veritable paradise of endless walks and cycle ways, wild animals and birds, fauna, fantastic sea views and secluded coves with sandy beaches. Akamas is included in the official UNESCO world's heritage list of cultural and natural treasures. Please note cycles can be hired locally in Polis.
The nearby village of Neo Chorio situated in the hills above Latchi is a small and peaceful village where the architecture is dominated by stone houses and narrow winding streets which exude a traditional Cypriot atmosphere.
Polis, approximately 7 kilometres from the villa is the principal town for the northwest region. This traditional town, huddled around a pedestrianised square is a great place to browse the many shops, enjoy a coffee watching the world pass by or dine at any of the wide selection of restaurants, tavernas and cafes which radiate out from the centre.
Take the time to explore some of the inland villages off the beaten path in the northwest region where you'll discover such delights as village cultural centres and museums, galleries, Churches and wineries with free wine tasting!
For golfers, there are several, panoramic , courses within an hour's drive, all open to visitors, namely the Aphrodite Hills,.Secret Valley and Tsada Golf Clubs.
