The Paphos region
The district of Paphos has the most varied landscape on the island of Cyprus with coastal and mountain villages (each unique), often surrounded by orchards of citrus fruit, olive and almond trees, vineyards full of grapes, and banana plants. The villages are also worth exploring for local museums, crafts, traditions and architecture. There are also numerous uncrowded beaches all along the coast.
The Paphos district is on the West coast of of the island and offers an excellent climate, the most pleasant (coolest) in the summer and warm in the winter. Paphos town (once the Roman capital of Cyprus is listed UNESCO heritage) and district is also know for its historical and archaeological sites and museums. This harbour town is lively, friendly with many shops, places to eat, drink and relax and also Paphos Castle where concerts, opera and other entertainment can be enjoyed in the open during the summer.
Paphos offers several excellent golf courses, The Secret Valley Golf Club (6120 meters and 18 holes plays to par 72 ) is 18 km east of Paphos, the most recently opened is the luxurious Aphrodite Hills (6299 meters and plays to par 70). Tsada Golf Course (6060 meters and 18 holes, plays to par 72) is the nearest, it is just 25 minutes away from Polis. As it is on an elevated position 550 meters above sea level it benefits from cool breezes during the summer months.
Its near the traditional Cypriot village 'Droushia' which is charmed by its breath taking views, authentic taverns, long stretched beaches and rolling hills. The village and Town of Latchi and Polis with its variety of restaurants and beaches are less than a ten minute drive and the new golf courses at Limni are less than 15 minutes away.
Polis, which in Greek means town, is one of the most beautiful, authentic and friendly towns of Cyprus. This historic town has its own character, interesting buildings, museum, a beautiful church and the main square which provides a real social hub. All expected amenities are provided, with many excellent restaurants, bars, shops, internet cafes, banks etc.. In the warm summer evenings Outside entertainment by local performers is often available for all to enjoy.
Polis is near romantic tourist sites, close to where Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty, used to meet her beloved Adonis. It looks across Chrysochou Bay to the nearby Akamas Peninsula, a spectacular nature conservation area complete with unique coves for sunbathing and swimming and hiking trails steeped in mythological legends.
Polis is also an ideal base for easy access to the surrounding coastal and mountain villages which offer authentic Greek Cypriot hospitality, culture and cuisine, while unique flora and fauna abound. It is within easy reach of bustling towns like Paphos (30 mins drive only), the Trodos mountains and also the airport. Activities like Jeep Safaris, Quad biking, Scuba diving, Go Karting, Coastal cruises, horse riding, water and amusement parks and golf courses are easily accessible from Polis.
Dotted with citrus groves, overlooking turquoise seas, Polis is the least developed beach resort in the South of Cyprus. It is the perfect base for a relaxing, interesting stay and also for an activity holiday, offering easy access to the varied landscapes of rocky promontories, lush meadows, rugged forests, sleepy monasteries and quiet beaches all along the coast in this largely unspoiled western region of Cyprus.
Visit Latchi with its great harbour-side fish restaurants and marina where water sports, scuba diving and boating excursions are available activities. Walk or cycle to Latchi using the path along the beach (shortest distance) or drive/cycle along the road to Latchi which also has its own cycle/walking promenade.
Monasteries (making their own wine and sweets) and churches of interest and beauty are well worth a visit and are located in every region of Cyprus. . .
The costal road separates the clear blue sea, pretty shoreline and local amenities from the surrounding lush green countryside. At the harbour, sit back and enjoy a seafood meal in one of the harbour side tavernas and watch the boats come and go.
For some extra pampering visit the Natural Healing Spa resort in nearby Miliou (Ayii Anargyri Natural Healing Spa Resort) next to Miliou's healing springs Tour buses and/or local buses provide trips to places of interest, but for independent visits a car is highly recommended.
The Akamas Peninsula is one of the last remaining natural areas on the island protected by UNESCO. You can swim, cycle, walk and explore this very beautiful area of the island and not be disturbed.

"Most relaxing holidays ever"
Amazing place! The apartment was new, very clean, with luxury furniture and fully equipped kitchen. We used the jacuzzi a lot, especially our son who liked it very much. The view from the balcony was also perfect. The resort amenities were fantastic. A large pool, children pool, tennis court, beach volley court, gym, spa etc. The restaurant food was very tasty and the chef and other staff were very friendly. We were impressed from the friendly staff. They were always friendly, helpful and very polite.
We had a very relaxing time there, and definitely we will return back next year!

My husband and daughter decided to take a short holiday and started looking on-line until we came across the Luxury penthouse at Akama health farm and spa. A really friendly and quick in keeping in touch owner helped us to book and in no time we were on the road heading towards the luxury resort. The place is really easy to find as it is situated at a fantastic location, of course we had very good directions from the owner as well. The resort offers easy access to Latsi and Polis the two main towns with fantastic beaches and watersports activities. And of course there is an easy access to all the small villages around Drousia. We were really excited to see how well decorated the place is, my daughter who is nine, wants to live n the penthouse, she was amazed by the stylish décor. The place has all the little kitchen utensils a housewife needs in her kitchen so we were able to prepare a small breakfast every morning ( the restaurant was offering breakfast as well but it was a bit expensive, so we prepared our own.) We also loved the Jacuzzi! A technician came to change the water after we requested and showed us how to work the buttons. So in no time we got it ready and working. This is really an amazing way to relax on your roof-garden, we used the Jacuzzi all the time, minimum 2ice daily. We loved how clean the place is and how friendly all the staff were.
There is a lovely swimming pool in the shape of Mickey which is kids friendly and my daughter was so happy playing all day in it. There are two more pools, one for really young kids and one indoor. My husband and I were happy tanning at the deck drinking our beer and freddo. The place offers great destinations for those interested to explore the area and visit some tourist destinations. For those interested to hop around the little villages, there is a rich culture and great Cypriot cuisine.
For those who want to relax and take advantage of the SPA, really good prices and excellent service.
We wish you happy holidays, book now!

"Self catering perks with hotel benefits"
We booked this place for our honeymoon and a honeymoon is what we got.
Just to set the scene - I had stupidly forgotten my driving directions to the apartment but thankfully a guy in a supermarket we stopped in told us to head on the main road to Polis, so that's what we did.
Neither my new wife nor I had been to Cyprus before. We roared laughing driving through a heard of goats and stopped for a quick "awwww!" moment with the donkey on the side of the road. After driving for about 35 mins from the coast of Paphos we came upon Akamas Latchi Panorama...
We were warmly greeted by the receptionist staff and after signing a few things, we were shown to our apartment barely 100m from the reception and the gym. Upon entry you walk in to the bedroom area with a huge and spacious fitted wardrobe. To the right is a walk in shower room with a lovely new shower. They also included the usual hotel mini's like shower soap.
Through the bedroom and in to kitchen/diner. The kitchen was equipped with more than enough for the week including a big fridge freezer. Marble floors and white leather decor gave a real feeling of cleanliness, luxury and style. At the end of the lounge area was a balcony with a stunning view down the valley and up towards the mountains.
Then you take the stairs up to the roof top solarium and Jacuzzi. The Jacuzzi is so big you could easily fit 3 people in there, so for the two of us we felt very spoilt! One evening we had a bottle of wine (maybe a bit of Ouzo too!) and sat in the Jacuzzi staring at the stars.
The complex itself is no expense spared. We got our silver membership sorted for €10 each as soon as we got there which gives you 10% off their spa treatments and access to the pools, steam room etc. We were given a very leisurely and in depth tour of the whole spa by the spa manager and were also recommended some treatments after have a quick consultation with her. We both booked our treatments for the week and enjoyed them immensely.
If you get chance, treat yourself to a cocktail at the bar. They come in massive glasses and taste yummy!
Paphos is lovely. We had a lunch out at the port which is lined with lovely restaurants and bars. A visit to the Tomb of the Kings is worthwhile. Access to the tombs is only €1.30 each! So don't got with a €50 like we did...We shopped at Lidl in Paphos (on the coast road), partly because we do at home anyway, but we soon realised that food and commodities are slightly more expensive in Cyprus so we weren't out of pocket too much from a normal shop there.
Polis is about 15 mins drive from the apartment. We rented 6 DVD's from Hollywood DVD's for €10 after trying to understand Greek TV!
Latchi was our favourite place. Beautiful shore side restaurants serving more food than we could eat. Watersports and shops etc. Well worth a visit especially in the evening.
All in all we had a wonderful and would thoroughly recommended it to others.

The apartment is beautifully furnished , the jazuzzi on the roof top is a worthwhile extra .
The staff were helpful and interested to know I enjoyed my stay . I used the local buses so I would like to have the complex obtain a mini bus to get me into Polis and then I can explore . I loved the pool area and the spa made it all complete relaxing holiday and I would love to return

"The perfect getaway"
Perfect location, breath taking views, top notch apartment/facilities and friendly staff.
10/10 – Would definitely recommend it to anyone planning to stay in the Paphos/Polis/Latchi region, particularly for those who prefer their peace and relaxation on holiday, as you avoid all the hustle and noise of the main towns, whilst at the same time being in a decent proximity to visit them if need be ... so you get the best of both worlds!
