The Loire Valley region

The beautiful town of Lassay les Châteaux is about 10km and should not be missed with its Medieval Château and beautiful Rose Garden. If you enjoy people watching nothing could be better than sitting in a roadside café at the lovely Bangnoles de l'Orne again about 10km away.

Further afield the Normandy Landing Beaches and the Châteaux of the Loire are within easy day trip distance, as is a trip on a TGV from Le Mans to Paris.

A 30 minute drive away is the medieval town of Sille-le-Guillaume where there is a lake with beach. A 90 minute drive gets you to the Normandy Landing beaches. Slightly further - about two hours drive - the North Brittany or Vendee coasts are good for a day trip. The World famous Mont St Michel - 2nd most visited tourist attraction in France after the Eiffel Tower - is about 90 minutes away by car.

"A beautiful place to stay"

"Gitetastic!"

Waiting at the airport after a lovely week at Le Cerisier. It is set in a beautiful location, with the only neighbours being a flock of garden birds who visit daily for the left over bread! It is lite… More

Thank you so much for such a kind review. We are really pleased you like the gite and the location, and enjoyed the peace of the area. We love it too.

It's good to know that you found the wifi Internet connection to be quick. When we first got it we were worried that such a rural location would give us problems.

Kevin and Anna are stars. We are so lucky to have them help us.

We very much look forward to welcoming you and your friends back again.

"The best gite we have stayed in"

The gite is set in a quiet hamlet, with a few houses down the road, and fields around, some with crops and some with cattle. There is good parking at the side of the house. It has been beautifully and… More

Thank you so much for such a nice review, especially so as you are highly experienced travellers in France.

It was good to meet you both briefly to help celebrate (in a minor way) your wedding anniversary.

We are very pleased you enjoyed your holiday and for also providing us with useful suggestions. Many thanks for leaving the gite in such a tidy condition.

Thank you for such a nice review. We are pleased that you enjoyed staying at Le Cerisier. It was so pleasant to meet you and your lovely family briefly. We liked the cake you baked !!!! There was really no need to replace the eggs/bread etc as these are provided to help guests settle in.

As you suggested, we have modified the note regarding directions to the gite slightly as some satnavs did not have the hamlet (La Haute Angeboudier) in the database.

Thank you also for leaving the gite in a perfect condition.

Thank you for your kind review. It was also really nice to meet you both, albeit very briefly. We have followed up on your suggestion of providing cool fans in the bedrooms as you noted how hot the weather was. We have also modified the shower to ensure that the water is really cool when required. Thank you also for leaving the cottage so neatly and for your kind words in the guest book.

"The perfect place for a taste of real France in the most excellent Gite I have ever visited"

Le Cerisier is a lovely Gite, it has every thing you could possibly need, from white fluffy towels, to a more than fully equiped kitchen, with super comfortable beds and plenty of great sitting space in the lounge and dining room. There are plenty of bathrooms and the whole place is so spotlessly clean that we were able to settle immediately upon arrival. We went in April this year and it was chilly outside - it was lovely getting all cosy with the log burning fire and a bottle of wine, wonderfully relaxing. We followed up some recommended resturants from the owners of the gite and had a couple of excellent and really French meals out. We would highly recommend a holiday here, not only is the accommodation excellent, the area is lovely too and feels so really 'French' it was a pleasure to visit. Some of our party have booked again for this summer and I am sure my family and I will be returning again very soon too.

Many thanks for the smashing review, we are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and left the cottage so clean and tidy.
