About the home

A comfortable 2 bed apartment situated in the white village of Bubion in La Alpujarra, Andalucia, Southern Spain. The apartment has 2 bedrooms (one double and one twin) and is on one floor with an open plan lounge / kitchen /dining area. It is situated at the southern end of the village of Bubion. It is available to rent as a holiday home throughout the year and has access to a large swimming pool with a sun bathing and BBQ area, open during July and August.

Bubion is an enchanting, peaceful village. It lies at 1,350 metres up in the heart of La Alpujarra, a charming region of astonishing beauty on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada in Andalucia, Southern Spain. The views in all directions are exceptional.

The Alpujarras gives you a choice of holiday. Whether you prefer a quiet retreat or a week full of activity such as hiking in the high Sierras, mountain biking or horse riding - 'A place in Bubion' is an ideal place for you.

'A Place in Bubion' has a terrace with amazing views down to the sea and the Contraviesa mountain range. To the north is the Sierra Nevada mountain range with Mulhacen, the highest peak in mainland Spain.

The apartment is cosy and comfortable and offers every modern convenience. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a comfortable lounge and dining area with fire place. The doors from the lounge lead to the terrace where there is table and 4 chairs.

Both bedroom have wardrobes with plenty of storage space and the new bathroom has a shower over the bath wash basin and WC.

The apartment has full central heating for the cooler months.

The apartment has use of a large swimming pool shared with immediate neighbours open in July and August. Also there is a large terrace and BBQ area by the pool side.

The village of Bubion sits quietly in the middle of 3 white village in the Poqueira Valley – the other two being Capileira – the highest and Pampaneira. All 3 villages have their own unique character and facilities. From these villages start some of the very best walks the Alpujarras has to offer. The nearby villages of La Taha are also worth a visit whilst here.

The apartment has a sofa bed but cannot be considered an additional bedroom. An additional charge will be made for extra persons using the sofa bed.

Bubion sits at 1300 metres above sea level in La Alpujarra, Southern Spain. In 1986 the Sierra Nevada was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO and has the purest air in Europe! For a relaxing holiday with a wonderful mountain climate, clean air and bright sunshine, there is no better place than this.

In July and August, ‘a Place in Bubión’ is enhanced by the use of a large kidney shaped swimming pool, which is shared with a few other houses in the area. There is a BBQ area and large patio to enjoy the long summer days.

Spring and autumn holidays are a superb mix of bright sunny days and cooler evenings – ideal for people looking to have a walking holiday or for mountain biking, painting, horse riding and bird watching. Winter is a time for cosy log fires, hearty meals in local restaurants and the wonderful light with snow peaked mountains of the Sierra Nevada.

The Las Alpujarras / Bubion area

Located in the heart of the high Alpujarras (La Alpujarra) in the Spain’s Sierra Nevada mountain range and just 1 hour from Granada Airport, Bubión is a perfect location for those wanting a mountain holiday with easy access to the coast (Costa Tropical) and the Moorish City of Granada.

The nearest town is Orgiva and Thursday sees it come to life with a large market selling everything from local produce and gifts to clothes and the occasional puppy! Just down the road is the Spa town of Lanjaron with its youth giving and healthy waters.

Travelling inland to the fabulous city of Granada is a must with a visit to the world famous Alhambra.

Only an hour from Bubion is the Costa Tropical with the coastal resorts of Almuñecar, Salobreña and La Herradura. They all have good beaches and a great selection of restaurants.
