This is a truly exceptional, beautiful, spacious property overlooking a river near Orgiva in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada in the Las Alpujarras region of southern Spain. It sits in splendid isolation, very private and secluded. Languishing in its mountain setting is a wonderful large private pool. If you are looking to 'get away from it all' yet retain creature comforts you will love this house.
The house is set in 4 acres of land amongst olive, fig, pomegranate and palm trees. The only sound is that of running water and occasional birdsong. The air is scented with aromatic herbs and at night a million stars are cast in a swathe overhead. Here you are in direct heartfelt contact with nature, yet the house is only 15 min. from the lively town of Orgiva, 45 min. from the sea and 1hr from the bustling city of Granada.
The house is situated on the southern foothills of the snow capped Sierra Nevada, approximately halfway between Granada to the north and the beaches of the Costa Tropica to the south. It is near the lively market town of Orgiva with its banks, bars, supermarkets, restaurants and internet cafes. The property is 6km from the town, the last km being via an unmade mountain track, navigable by an ordinary car.
The area is easily accessed by hire car from either Granada or Malaga Airports.

Space flows through this house and is rarely obstructed by doors. Both the White Terrace Bedroom and the En Suite Bedroom are entered through archways and an airy curtain separates them from the general flow of space in the house. However your privacy is not compromised as the bedrooms are some distance away from each other on different floors.
The White Terrace Room is of generous proportions and opens onto it's own terrace overlooking the valley. The En Suite bedroom is of modest proportions and opens off the Salon (at night the Salon door may be closed to give extra privacy). The Studio has a more rustic feel, is of generous proportions and is accessed via a colonnade separated from the rest of the house, it's occupants toilet and washing facilities are in the main house. An electric fan is provided in each bedroom.
There is a table and chairs in the courtyard for dining alfresco (most meals!). The house is unsuitable for young children as there are sheer drops to the river below (these are some distance from the actively used areas and are easily avoided by adults). The pool is large 4.5M x 11.5M and 1.2M - 2.5M deep and is open May to September inclusive. There is a terrace and pleasant arched shaded pavilion overlooking it.

Rentals are from Saturday to Saturday.

Bed linen and house towels are provided.
A welcome pack of bread, wine, beer, milk and juice is provided.
Refundable Security Deposit : a £150 security deposit is payable on each booking.
