In the centre of Ugijar, one of the largest Alpujarran villages yet only 40 minutes away from the beaches of the Costa Tropical or skiing in the Sierra Nevada.
Las Alpujarras is a particularly delightful area to explore on foot or cycling and there are many well-signposted walking routes, ranging from a short stroll, to day long hikes into the Sierra Nevada. For the really serious walker there are two famous long-distance foot paths that cross Las Alpujarras. One is the GR-7 which begins in Tarifa in Cadiz province and crosses Europe all the way to Greece. The other is the GR-142 which runs from Lanjaron to Fiñana on the northern side of the Sierra Nevada in Almeria.
The best months to walk in Las Alpujarras are April to mid-June, and mid-September to mid-November.
The the apartments are part of a very large 450m2 village house, rennovated to luxury accommodation with new double glazed doors, windows throughout with all new bathroom/kitchen fittings/floor tiles, lighting and are continually maintained and updated. They are totally separate although on the same floor and could be rented out together, keeping the main doors open to form one large apartment.
The luxury 1 double bedroom apartment sleeps 2/3, overlooks the front of the property, has a separatelounge/dining room, and a kitchen with breakfast bar plus bathroom. Both the bedroom and living room have beautiful rustic double doors opening on to balconies overlooking the important street below.
(There is also a luxury 3 double bedroom apartment which sleeps 2/6 and overlooks the back of the property, has a very spacious lounge, kitchen and twin sink family bathroom. The 3 bedroom apartment also has access to a beautiful outdoor seating area to catch the sun or relax under the shady vines and a large roof terrace).
Based in the centre of Ugijar amongst the shops/bars and restaurants, on a fairly quiet street leading from the main street down near the church to a village square and further small shops/bar.
Both apartments decorated to a high standard, still in keeping with the rustic Spanish style.
The property also consists of a further ground floor apartment with the English owner permanently on hand for any help/advice as required.

This smaller apartment has double patio doors from each of the living room and bedroom, to the front of the property onto a juliet balcony.
Parking is 50 yards away, many spaces available.
There are many shops/bars and restaurants in the village and a beautiful public swimming pool in the village.
No smoking is preferred inside the apartments though there is plenty of outside space.
The Andalucia region
Timeless, a taste of true Spain, whitewashed villages nestling in the mountains between the Sierra Nevada mountain range famous for its ski resorts and the Costa Tropical beaches. Today you still see workers with their mules working the land and harvesting their almonds and olives. The beauty of the mountains, the sun that always shines, the beautiful views with vast blossom and fruit trees ,and the kind, generous people all make this district a wonderful area to visit.
Traditions that go back to the Moors are still present in the gastronomy of the towns. “Tapas” are still a custom served FREE when indulging on a cold pint of beer or glass of wine in the area, and the cost of living in general is very favorable compared with coastal resorts and of course the UK.
Nature walks, scenic drives, horseback riding, skiing, enjoying the sea and sun are of many activities one can enjoy while visiting this area. There are also lots of wonderful open air village pools for use by visitors for a very nominal fee, some with breathtaking views.
This is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the slower more relaxed pace of Spain as it once was, unspoilt, friendly and honest

"Exactly as offered"
Could not fault this apartment in any way, perfect location near to the mountains, 30km from the med. Apartment is finished to a very high standard. The owner is friendly, helpful and easily contactable.
