Le Tilleul (3 bedrooms, sleeps 8+cots) and Le Figuier (2 bedrooms, sleeps 5+cots) is a tastefully renovated stone farmhouse and barn, with a private saltwater swimming pool. The cottages retain their original exposed stone walls and wooden beams throughout.
Full of character, the cottages also offer modern comforts and conveniences.
The flexible accommodation makes Le Tilleul and Le Figuier ideal for large multi-family groups or perhaps multi-generation groups, or two or three families on holiday together.
The accommodation provides great flexibility offering three double beds and a further three twin beds or six singles (or combinations of that).
As well as the private pool and sun-trap courtyard, the cottages benefit from two large private gardens, off-road gated parking, two terraces, two TV/DVDs and a large selection of books, games and jigsaws. It's all big enough that different groups can do their own thing in peace and quiet.
Located on the edge of a medieval village, set among rolling countryside with sunflowers and Armagnac vines, Le Tilleul and Le Figuier offer a great holiday destination for relaxation and an opportunity to sample local French cuisine and way of life.
Golf, tennis, horse-riding, bike & canoe hire are all nearby and there are many swimming lakes with sandy beaches.
Attractive low season rental rates make the cottage an ideal base for exploring this area of France, or for house-hunting visits in this beautiful area of the Gers known as the 'Golden Triangle'.

The property has a private courtyard with an 8m x 4m saltwater swimming pool, located between the two cottages, and accessed directly from the rear doors of both. Roman steps across the full width at one end of the pool make it easy for younger guests.
A paved sunbathing area with sun loungers and reclining chairs surrounds the pool.
There are child-proof doors from both properties, as well as a pool alarm.
A range of pool and water toys are provided.
To the side of Le Tilleul is a private, fully enclosed garden. A patio with garden furniture and barbecue is set under the shade of the lime tree. There is an open area of level grass with a climbing frame with a slide and space for playing ball games.
We are happy to accept well-behaved pets (max. 2).
To the side of Le Figuier is a separate private, fully enclosed garden and a large terrace with garden furniture and barbecue is set under the shade of a pergola. In the evening, the brick-built barbecue makes cooking the dinner a pleasure while the abundant fig tree (Figuier) completes the setting. The terrace is fully enclosed making it an ideal, safe and shaded area for young children to play. At the barbecue end of the patio is a gate leading to the garden beyond which is a level, rough-mown area ideal for ball games. At the top of the garden is a gated parking space and the entrance to the castle is literally 50 paces away.
Altogether, the courtyard and the two gardens provide a range of terraces, grassed areas, sunbathing spots and play areas that complete the setting of the cottages at Larressingle.

The Midi-Pyrénées region
Historic setting just outside the castle walls of the 13th century fortified village of Larressingle in the Gers. The cottages are quietly located, just out of sight of the castle, but with easy access to the bar/creperie within the castle walls, and a nearby restaurant.
The Gascony region of south-west France is still relatively undiscovered by tourists, and so provides the chance to relax and enjoy something of the real France. The surrounding countryside is fields of sunflowers and Armagnac vines. Duck dishes, foie gras and prunes are the local specialities, washed down with Armagnac or the local aperitif 'Pousse Rapiere'! The bustling market town of Condom is only 5km away and offers all amenities and a range of restaurants.
The area abounds with history with its medieval fortified villages at Fourcès, Montréal du Gers, La Romieu, l'Abbaye de Flaran, to name but a few. Colourful weekly market in Condom, as well as at nearby towns of Nérac, Eauze and Lectoure.
See recent article in Daily Telegraph online (February 2011) for a taste of what's offered at Larressingle: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sponsored/travel/free-wheel/8345917/Larressingle.html

"Good accommodation, very good location, and lovely area."
We particularly enjoyed eating at the creperie in Larressingle, walking parts of the pilgrims’ way and the lake at Castéra-Verduzan. We stayed in Le Tilleul. Which was large and well furbished. A very pleasant stay.
