The Hayloft
About the home
Set in 3 acres of rural countryside on the outskirts of Larne overlooking the Inver river valley and Shane's Hill , these apartments offer excellent views with off road secure parking where you can enjoy the quietness of the countryside. This first floor apartment has the above uninterrupted views from your living room and kitchen, along with its own private decked balcony with patio furniture, separate kitchen, living room and two en suite bedrooms, with oil central heating, linen and towels and wi-fi inclusive in the tariff
My wife and I both retired reside on site and would love to share the tranquillity of the setting and to ensure a relaxing holiday as we now only accept adults.
The site consists of a group of old buildings, the oldest building was a old homestead around the 1700's, the hayloft part of this building was used for a restaurant, hence our name The restaurant is now closed due to retirement though there is a pub restaurant a mile from us. There are three other houses which in the past would probably housed up to five families who would have worked for the wealthy landowner whose house (now mainly rubble) was situated off the incoming lane. The other outbuildings are, the carriage house (now the laundry room and small workshop), the old mill, and another of the buildings now converted to a one bedroom and a two bedroom apartment. Such a group of dwellings in Ireland would have been known as a clachan.

I was there in a business trip with other three colleagues. We stayed for 29 days and were very pleased with everything. The accommodation was found as described on web site, in a very quiet area, very good for relaxing, with very friendly owners. I will go back there with pleasure anytime. I can suggest this accommodation for everybody who likes rural quiet countryside. |
