The Larnaca District
The district of Larnaca is situated on the southern edge of the island and offers all year round sunshine. Larnaca is the third largest town in Cyprus and is a superb base to access all there is to offer on the island.
You are never far away from any of the islands attractions, whether you want to relax in the peace and quiet or spend some time at the famous Ayia Napa resort known for its bustling night life which is only 30 minutes away.
The capital Nicosia is just over 30 minutes away and is well worth a visit. One of the many good things in Cyprus is that they drive on the left as in the U.K. Driving is very easy roads are very quiet compared to back home. Larnaca town is a cosmopolitan town set on a couple of superb sandy beaches including Makenzie beach with plenty of sunbeds and watersports of all descriptions. Its gently sloping beach is ideal for children.
Larnaca / Tersefanou area
Tersefanou is a quaint unspoiled village ideally positioned on the outskirts of Larnaca.
Its laid back atmosphere will suit the family and couples alike.with attractions such as the Dreamlands park, camel park and horse riding all within easy reach and of course a number of Blue flag award winning beaches in the area.
It will also suit those more mature visitors looking to relax and soak up the atmosphere.
How to get there
Tersefanou is a short 15 mins drive from Larnaca airport. Local taxis are plentiful from outside the Terminal.
You can organize your hire car from the UK before you travel, it is quick and easy to do. Many of the well known hire companies operate from Larnaca including: Hertz, Budget,Thrifty and Alamo to name a few. Many of the budget airlines now fly to Larnaca from most regional airports in the UK. Easyjet, Monarch, Thomas Cook and Jet2.com to name a few.
Also British Airways and Cyprus Airways fly from the London airports including Heathrow.
