The Larnaca District
This area has something for all ages and types of tourist. The city of Larnaca has two seafront areas in the centre with miles of sandy beaches, some with the prestigious Blue Flag. There are promenades, cafes and watersports including paragliding, wind surfing, banana boats and diving courses at PADI diving centres. The new part is cosmopolitan, vibrant and fashionable, but the old areas still retain the original old Cypriot charm and quirkiness,as well as many historical sights of interest and significance in the area. There are theatres, fashion shops including famous names such as Next, Debenhams, Marks and Spencer and Top Shop, as well as other beautiful and traditional stores. TheLarnaca Marina area is the place to be in the evening, with a wide variety of bars, restaurants and night clubs. There is a Sunday market and Ayia Napa is a very easy 30 minute drive, for more night life, restaurants and the best water park in Cyprus. An island of contrasts, the mountains offer stunning views and walks and there is ski-ing in the snow in winter.
Larnaca / Tersefanou area
The village itself is still a traditional retreat, full of Cypriot atmosphere. It has a shop and taverna in the Square, and a bus service to Larnaca several times a day. It is very friendly, and English is widely spoken. This is an excellent base to explore Larnaca, Ayia Napa, Limassol and Nicosia, using the very easy motorway network, which has English road signs and driving is on the left. There is horse-riding in the village, a garden centre, a family fun park-Pleasureland and a karting track 10 minutes' drive away. The camel park at Mazotos is an enjoyable experience. Paphos is a pleasant day trip, for its beautiful harbour and mosaics, being an hour away. The village of Pervolia, 5 minutes' drive away, has bars, tavernas and restaurants which offer traditional Cypriot cooking, European dishes, singing and dancing. The local bakeries have a selection of cakes and pastries to die for! The festival of Kataklysmos in June is a must-see, with parades, fairs, stalls, entertainment events at the promenade open-air theatre, fireworks, puppet theatres and competitions - and all free.
How to get there
Many of the main british-based carriers such as B.A. , First Choice Airlines, Monarch, Thomson, Mytravel and Thomas Cook Fly into Larnaca airport, only ten minutes from Tersefanou. Easyjet have recently begun travelling to Cyprus. Eurocypria, Olympic Airlines and Cyprair are some of the Greek airlines which fly in to Cyprus. Try Sky-scanners' website and Traveldeals4less. Tersefanou is only one hour along the motorway from Paphos Airport (an easy drive-not like British motor-ways!) , which increases choice and flexibility. Many international car hire companies operate from the airports, but Stavros Koukkounis in Larnaca provides a very personal service at the airport, which avoids queues and provides preferential rates and service to the owners' guests. His cars are recent models and immaculately clean and maintained. Ask for details.

Fantastic holiday. The house was excellent, very well equipped and very clean. Great location and the garden and pool topped it off! R Gleave, Manchester.
What a great place! So beautiful, but with lots to do. The house had everything you would expect and more-even a coffee maker. Will definitely be coming again! Mr and Mrs Wilson, Cheshire.
We all loved it .So safe for the children. It was so comfortable and everything was spotless! A and R Eaton, Somerset.
