The Larnaca District
On the edge of Larnaka Bay the palm-lined seafront of Larnaka town bustles with cafes, tavernas, shops and bars. Historic charm is lent to the scene by its fortress castle, now used as the town's summer cultural centre. Larnaka is an excellent base from which to get to know the central and eastern section of Cyprus, and its proximity to the International Airport and a number of luxury hotels that have been developed along its beautiful sandy beaches make this a popular holiday choice. Larnaka was originally known as Kition, or Khittim, and legend has it that the first settlement at the spot was founded by Noah's grandson Khittim. But the name Larnaka probably comes from the Greek word "Larnax", which means sarcophagus many of which have been unearthed in this area.

How to get there
Reasonably priced flights are available from most main airports. Expect to pay between £150 to £250 return. A car isn't necessary but we can provide details of a good local car hire company. A taxi from the airport to the apartment will take 10 minutes and cost £7 CYP. Apartment is two minutes walk to local amenities, such as supermarkets, bars, restaurants, taxi firm, etc The Larnaca Bay is only a 10 minute walk away.

The Luxury apartment was superb had everything we needed and ideally situated a short walk from bars and shops. The Jacuzzi was great fun and the view of the sea and boats great especially in the evening when the sun was going down. Would certainly stay again and would recommend to a friend. 5/5 I far too relaxed to write a full review Officebirdy - London. Date Submitted: September 25, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008 So I will make this short. This apartment is located 15 minutes from the main beach front, so every morning we slowly wondered down chilled and relaxed, no rushing with hardly any cars rushing by (via the backstreet) even my 60 yr+ mother in law loved the walk. And most nights (after being out) we sat on the balcony watching the ships, trying to work out what the men were doing on the docks. Even with them so close there was hardly any noise and when you close the doors it was sooo quiet. During the entire stay my 7 month old slept through without any disturbance. The apartment was clean and is in a very good condition. On the main street there a several shops and about 10 minute walk away there is a large supermarket so you can stock up on all the essentials for your stay. Overall all I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind being just outside the town centre. We will be looking to stay here next time we visit Cyprus. Recommended for: Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Age 55+, Families with Young Children

The quality of the furnishing and equipment is very high, and the 'welcome pack' of tea and coffee etc. was a nice touch,
There is a good sized balcony which gets the mornning sunshine, and the jacuzzi is great for relaxing in!
The location is good being near both the centre of Larnaka and (in the opposite direction) the Dekeleia Road tourist strip. There are several shops, tavernas, and an internet cafe nearby as well as the Carrefour hypermarket.
Sea View Court is in a quiet residential are, but near major roads. Nicosia and Famagusta are only an hour away by hire car or shared taxi. Recommended for: Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Age 55+
