The Somerset region
The region surrounding Bath is one of the most popular destinations for tourists from all over the world. You can see so much of what makes this part of the country so special, if you are based at No. 2 Larkhall Square. Within 45 minutes drive you could be at the seaside eating Fish and Chips overlooking the sea, or you could jump on a train if you prefer. There are even Steam Trains running out of Bath to Weymouth for a really traditional day out! Stonehenge and Avebury stone circles are both no more that 45 minutes drive away and you are on the doorstep of all the beautiful villages in the Cotswolds. Bristol is only a 10 minute train ride away and is full of fascinating places to visit. Steeped in a rich history the Bristol Harbourside is a day out in itself. If stately homes are your thing then Lord Bath's Longleat House and its famous Safari Park are about 30 minutes drive, and there are many other National Trust Properties close by. Country walks are plentiful and you will be able to find some wonderful Pub Lunches along the way. The West Country is steeped in history and Mysticism. Glastonbury is only 45 minutes away by car and is a lovely place to spend a day,as is the tiny City Of Wells with its moated Bishops Palace. You will need more than a week to explore the whole region.....but you can always come back!
In the immediate vicinity there are many attractions, most obviously, Bath City itself. A World Heritage site, it is a splendid place to enjoy a City Break. All tastes are catered for whether you be a Culture Vulture, A Foodie, or a Hedonist! You can eat, shop and enjoy Museums and Art and much much more.
The renowned Thermae Bath Spa draws a lot of people to the city and is an absolute must. You can watch the sun going down over the rooftops from the Pool right at the top of the Spa before getting dressed up for a night on the town. You can watch Glass Blowing at the famous Bath Aqua Glass and take home a lovely piece of Handmade glass. Visit the Royal Crescent and pop into No.1 Royal Crescent. A completely restored Georgian townhouse showing life as it would have been in the 18th Century in Bath. The Kings Circus, just along from the Crescent , is worth a stroll and the Royal Victoria Park is just around the corner if you wish to rest your weary legs before hitting the shops. The Theatre Royal Bath is where many productions and plays get an airing before hitting the West End. There are lots of Cultural Festivals all year round in Bath, including the International Music Festival and The Literary Festival, various foodie festivals and the popular Bath in Fashion Week. There are plenty of Cafes to enjoy; but no holiday in Bath would be complete without afternoon tea at The Pump Room following a visit to the Roman Baths. That is only a small taste of what is on offer in Bath. In the immediate vicinity of No.2 Larkhall Square there are shops and a couple of really lovely cafes to enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat. There are proper shops including a butchers and a greengrocer. There is a lovely little Theatre called The Rondo which offers an excellent evening programme and can be booked in advance via the website. Just 10 minutes from the house is the Solsbury Hilll that Peter Gabriel sang about! Climbing that on a clear day is a great experience and will reward you with spectacular view from the top. There are lovely little villages and lots of walks including The Cotswold Way accessed from just up the road. Larkhall is the ideal place from which to enjoy Bath and the surrounding area. It is peaceful yet only a stones throw from the city centre.

"Home from home with a luxury feel."
Jenni was a warm and welcoming host. The property was beautifully decorated with loads of personal touches a real home from home, with a luxury feel. The house was equipped with everything you could need and more. We stayed as a group of 6 friends and the house was absolutely perfect for our girly weekend in Bath. Loads of fluffy towels in the bathrooms, good showers comfortable beds and the kitchen / living space was sociable, perfect for pre going out drinks, nibbles and laughs. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend and hope to stay again.

"Lovely house, lovely location, lovely owner...amazing weekend!"
I would highly recommend No2 Larkhall Square. Myself and 7 of my friends stayed for my 30th birthday weekend in January. The house is set in a lovely village which has a café, co-op, takeaways, green grocers, deli etc all on the doorstep. Jenni (owner) greeted us at the house in order for us to collect the keys and was very helpful in terms of places to visit within Bath, whether it be for food, drinks, shopping. The house is absolutely lovely and we wished we were staying for longer. Will definitely be returning at some point.

"Perfect little place"
Stayed in no2 The Square for a long weekend with friends and it couldn't have been more perfect. Very clean, tidy and extremely well-furnished, it had all we needed, including very comfortable beds with lots of pillows. The only downside was that Friday nights can be a bit noisy and vans seem to park right outside the door while off-loading stuff, but otherwise it was lovely - and ideal for getting into town.

"Ideal for a girly weekend"
Beautiful bedrooms and very clean and tidy. We were made to feel very welcome, and Jenni prepared the house very well for our hen stay, putting up balloons and banners and chilling some fizz in the fridge. A lovely 20 min stroll to town (all flat) and all necessary shops just metres away from the front door. Perfect for 6-7 sleepers, very comfortable beds. An excellent weekend had by all! Would definitely go again!
Thank you so much for the lovely review. It was my pleasure to help make your weekend special. You were great guests. Would love to see you again.

"Lovely Larkhall - a home away from home!"
We booked Number 2 Larkhall Square fon the recommendation of a friend, rather than use a hotel for a short break in Bath during which we attended a family celebration. We are so glad we did! Beautiful light, airy, spacious accommodation, an easy drive from the M4 junction and also conveniently situated on a bus route into Bath itself. We really appreciated the flexibility of self-catering, especially as the property is so well-equipped and the warm welcome when we arrived. The beds were clean, comfortable and decked out tastefully with fresh white linen and co-ordinating throws and cushions. Bathrooms were modern and immaculately clean. We didn't make full use of the kitchen, but there was plenty of good quality matching cutlery, crockery and glassware (not always the case in some vacation rentals we have visited). In short, a perfect home away from home and we hope to stay again soon.
Thank you for your kind words, You were great guests. Welcome back anytime.

"Can't wait to return..."
I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay at Larkhall Square was! The home is beautifully decorated and has everything you need for a short or long stay. It's an easy trip into central Bath to see the sites and from a practical perspective there is everything you need at doorstep - two lovely cafes, a good grocery store (brand new co-op), pharmacy and even what looked to be a fantastic butcher shop (we ate out so I can't say for sure). It was very much like staying in a small town. All of the bedrooms are bright but cosy, and the beds are heaven. And, if you have the time a soak in the enormous tub will definitely help with any muscle strain. The owner is an absolute pleasure to deal with and really goes the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your time. If you choose to stay anywhere else in Bath, you're making a mistake! Plus the guide she has created within the property gives you all the information you could need!
Its so nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay, and thank you for taking the time to post a review. You are always welcome to return, eve if only to try the Butchers! Which incidentally is one of the very best around!
