The Kyrenia District
The villa is located on the Kyrenia coast. The historical sites of Bellapais Abbey, Kyrenia Castle (which also houses the worlds "oldest" boat wreck), St Hilarion Castle are all within 45 minutes drive. We recommend the guidebook : North Cyprus (Bradt Travel Guides) By Diana Darke for full details on all local histories and sites to visit.
Plenty of local shops and larger supermarkets can be found Eastward from the villa.
Buses (Dolmus, as they are known in Turkish) run from Karsiyaka to Kyrenia, you just flag them down and they are very reasonably priced. However, a rental car is strongly recommended, especially for families.
Lapta area
Local beach resorts are littered along the north coast. Some provide water sports (e.g. Sun Set provides water ski-jet), scuba diving club at Escape Beach/Deniz Kizi, and larger resorts provide waterslides etc. There is also paragliding from the Kyrenia mountain range.
The golf course in north Cyprus is about 50 minute drive Eastward along the coast.
How to get there
Fly to Ercan North Cyprus (Nicosia) via a courtesy stop in Turkey. 50 minutes transfer time to the villa. Many travel agents offer flights to North Cyprus. Transfer can be arranged. Car hire and taxis are available from many local car rental companies. Car rental is best done in North Cyprus due to insurance requirements, however, you can rent from the south and pay for insurance at the border crossing.
Alternatively, fly direct to Larnaca in southern Cyprus. 90 minutes transfer time to villa, via crossing point from Greek side of the island. Scheduled and Charter Airlines are available from most Airports.
Taxi can be arranged for either airport.
The villa is located 300 metres from the sea, in the district of Karsiyaka village.

In order to secure the booking, a 20% non refundable deposit is required, with the outstanding amount to be paid no later than 6 weeks before the departure date. UK bank cheques for deposit, full payment and security bond.
A security bond of £100.00 is required to cover any damage, loss or breakages. This will be returned, following a report from the owners agent on your departure day (or evening before).
It is possible to book the villa for additional days. This will be charged at an agreed daily rate.
If additional laundry services are required, these will be charged for at local rates [there is a washing machine in the villa].
