Home description

The Villa is furnished and decorated to a very high standard (furnished as a Home not a Holiday Let), it is Light and Spacious with Sliding Patio doors from the Master Bedroom and Lounge to the spacious terracing which surrounds the Villa and the Private Swimming Pool area - lots of space to eat "Al Fresco" There is also a very large Private Roof Terrace with views to the Besparmak Mountains and the sea. There is also an outside Shower located by the pool.

If staying during the Winter months, the Villa has full Central Heating with Radiators in all rooms.

For your Health and Safety the pool is cleaned twice a week in the summer and once a week in the winter and product added when necessary - disruption is minimal, but it does ensure the crystal waters are safe and not just great to look at!! For your enjoyment the gardens are also maintained regularly.

The Villa is 400m from the Beach where there are Water Sport Facilities. Some of the Finest Restaurants on the Island can be found in this area offering Indian, Chinese, Italian, French and Typical Cypriot cuisine and they are very reasonable - a lot less than the UK.

There are also many Casinos (Membership not required) - they offer food and drinks free of charge while you try your hand at Back Jack, Poker, Roulette or the Slots, etc

Supermarkets and shops are available within walking distance and they offer many products from the UK.

To enjoy everything Northern Cyprus has to offer it is recommended that you hire a car - this can be arranged for you.

The Kyrenia District

The Northern coastline, which borders the Besparmak Mountains, is reputed to be one of the most beautiful areas in the Mediterranean and the Harbour of Kyrenia simply adds to the beauty surrounding you - there is also a castle to explore - it is as if time stood still when you wander along the cobbled streets or take in a beverage at the many Harbour side Cafes and Restaurants - you will find the people so friendly. Northern Cyprus with its beauty, great restaurants, friendly people and superb climate make a great recipe for a relaxing, non-commercialised holiday - it is as if time stood still.

There are lots of places to visit - St. Hilarion Castle at the top of a mountain peak is approx 20 mins by car - this Castle is lit up at night and makes quite a spectacle. in the darkness of the mountains.

You could also take a drive to the Karpaz Penninsula (Pan Handle) in the North, now a protected Nature Reserve - here you will see wild Donkeys (Cyprus' oldest inhabitants) and the Sea is a fabulous Turquoise plus miles of White Sandy Beaches - totally unspoilt - quite amazing, it is as if time stood still as nothing has changed in this region for approximately 30 years. You can visit in July or August and not see a person - you can have the whole beach to yourselves!!! There are many species of birds, wild flowers (including orchids). There are also nesting grounds for 2 endangered species of Sea Turtle in the Karpaz, and depending on the time of year you make your visit, it can be possible to see the turtles come to lay their eggs and the babies trying to make it to the sea when they hatch.

In this region there are ruins and even dungeons (Famagusta) to visit and explore. The ruins of Salamis would also be a great place to visit - there arew so many ruins to visit - the whole Island is steeped in history

Bellapais Abbey is another great place to visit - the views and the abbey - the local restaurants will provide a taxi from the Villa to the restaurant and return you - free of charge - and no, the taxi price is not reflected in the price of the meals - the price is similar to all other restaurants and to see the Abbey by night is a treat (see picture)

You can cross the border into Southern Cyprus at the Nicosia crossing which is approximately 30 minutes, or alternatively drive to Famagusta (approximately 1.5 hours) and cross over to the South Eastern corner of Southern Cyprus - it should be pointed out if hiring a car in Northern Cyprus you will not be allowed to take the car to Southern Cyprus, but if you were to hire a car in the South when you arrive at Larnaca Airport, it is possible to drive to the South in the Hire Car from the North. However with so much to see in the North - the South should be a separate holiday!!!

Lapta area

The villa is set back from the Coast Road amongst the Citrus Groves on the outskirts of Lapta. The village of Lapta is a short walk away - there are shops, restaurants and a supermarket. There is also a beautiful Monestery - Ayia Anastasia Monastery - see the picture. There are also several beaches within walking distance. For the more adventurous there are the Sunset Beach Water Sports facilities just across the Coast Road. Lapta is next to the Village of Alsancak and both have wonderful restaurants - International Cuisine at its finest whether your taste is Indian, Chinese, Italian, French or typical Cypriot - you will be spoilt for choice . You will find the restaurants very inexpensive and very friendly - normally offering a free coffee and brandy after your meal. If all this is not enough - then there are the many Casinos (no Membership is necessary) - the Casinos will feed you and supply free drinks of your choice whilst you play - the Slots, Black Jack, Roulette, Poker and other Card Games.

Lapta has spectacular scenery, cooling sea and mountain breezes in the hot summer months, and a constant supply of mains water. The area is ideal for those who like the beach and water sports or poolside holidays, as well as for those who like to walk and explore the spectacular mountain scenery and ruins, etc.

Cyprus is also renown for Scuba diving - there are many schools and diving clubs available locally.

You can be daring and take in some Paragliding from the mountain top or simply hang in there from the back of a boat!!!! Hire a Jetski or Jetbike - it is all here for you to enjoy with uncrowded beaches to enjoy as well.

( Lapta ) Lapethos, thought to be the capital of an ancient kingdom, was constructed where today's Lapta is. The first inhabitants of Lambusa are thought to have moved there in 13th Century BC. The city was conquered by the Phoenicians in the 8th Century BC, but its most glorious times were during the Roman and Byzantine Periods. Some f the precious antiquities found in Lambusa are being displayed at the Nicosia Museum, but the rest are in the British Museum in New York, and in the Dumbarton oaks Collection in Washington DC.

How to get there

The Nearest Airport is ERCAN.

I can arrange a transfer from ERCAN Airport to the Villa at a cost of £60 Return (paid locally) for up to 6 sharing plus luggage. (24 Hour service)

I can also arrange for Car Hire to be available at ERCAN Airport and the car returned to ERCAN - there is no extra charge for this - the rate is £17 - £18 in Low Season per day or £21 -£23 in High Season per day - easy to follow directions to the Villa can also be sent to you. If you prefer the car can be delivered to the Villa and collected from there.

Alternatively, you can fly into LARNACA AIRPORT - there are many cheap flights including EasyJet, ThomasCook, Monarch, Thomson, First Choice or simply go to any Search Engine and type in "Cheap flights to Larnaca"

I can arrange a Transfer for up to 6 people plus luggage from LARNACA Airport at a cost of £100 Return (24 hour service).

The currency in Northern Cyprus is Turkish Lira - although Euros and GBP Sterling are accepted everywhere and good rates given. Now is a great time to visit Northern Cyprus to spend GBP Sterling as you get more for your GB Pound than changing to Euros.

The Accommodation is on one level plus a roof terrace. As you enter the Villa there is a light, spacious Hallway leading to all rooms as follows:-

Kitchen - light and spacious and fully fitted, there is a ceiling fan to keep everything nice and cool plus a stable door leading to the large furnished terrace and pergola.

Utility Room - Light with a washing machine, ironing board and cleaning equipment.

Lounge - Air Conditioned - spacious and light with 2 windows and a sliding patio door to the Terrace - it is furnished to a high standard with comfort in mind and has views to the mountains and terrace. There is a Home Entertainment System plus Satellite TV for your enjoyment plus games and puzzles.

The Villa has 3 bedrooms which all have air conditioning Units as follows:-

Master Bedroom with en-suite bathroom - this is a very large room which is really bright with views to the Patio and Pool area (triple aspect). It has a Double Bed, built-in Wardrobes, Dressing Table, Ceiling fan with built-in lighting. A door inside the bedroom area leads to the En-Suite Bathroom complete with Bath with overhead shower fitments, Wash Hand Basin, Heated Towel Rail and Toilet.

2nd Bedroom - Double Bed with built-in Wardrobes - double aspect with views of the Mountains and the Pool

3rd Bedroom - Twin Beds with build-ion Wardrobes - views to the mountains

There is a Family Shower Room with Shower, Wash Hand Basin, Heated Towel rail and Toilet

The décor is light throughout and everything included for a comfortable, relaxing holiday

Further details outdoors:
The Villa sits in its own Cypriot Stone walled garden with Bougainvillea, Hibiscus, Mimosa, Oleander and many other beautiful plants and flowers. The whole area is secure and gated with an area to park a vehicle off road. There is ample space for children to play in safety. There is also lots of outside lighting.

Once inside the gates there is a paved walkway to the front door - the walkway continues around the Villa and to the sides of the walkway are gardens with a Mediterranean theme.

The private 8m x 4m Overflow Swimming Pool has a large sunbathing area - lots of area for the sun loungers (provided) plus an Outside Shower - there is lighting in the pool as well as lighting around the pool - for those long summer nights

To the side of the Villa is a flight of stairs with ornate railings which lead to the private roof terrace - this area is very large and has lots of lighting - from here the mountain views are spectacular and there are also sea views. The views of the mountains change all the time as the light goes across - you can look at them for hours.

A Patio Door from the Master Bedroom, Lounge and a door from the Kitchen take you to a very large Furnished Terrace which has a pergola giving some respite from the sunshine - great for eating "Al Fresco".

There is a Citrus Grove to the rear and side of the property and the Villa is in a group of just 4 properties - so not a large complex which means you can have a quiet, relaxing holiday.

Further details

To allow for flights coming into Cyprus everyday of the week, rental periods can start and end on any day - there is no set changeover day.

The prices quoted are for a week long let; however I can quote for other periods - 10 days, etc. Just ask me for a quote.

Long lets (over 3 weeks) are available - just ask for a quotation. In the winter it is normally cheaper to rent in Cyprus than to pay your electricity bill for heating at home!!

Normally the villa is available from 15.00 on the day of your arrival and ends at 10.00 on the day of your departure, however wherever possible we will try to accommodate late and early arrivals and departures so that you get the most from your time in Cyprus.

Conditions

The rates include air conditioning, heating, linen, towels and a welcome pack plus a change of linen and towels after the first week if staying for 2 weeks and a change after the 2nd week if staying for 3 weeks.

If staying for a long let (over 3 weeks), linen and towel changes are not included in the prices, but laundry can be arranged separately and paid for locally in Turkish Lira

Payments from UK residents can be made into any UK bank.

International payments can be made via IBAN Transfer and paid in GBP Sterling

I can also be paid via PayPal using a Credit Card from anywhere in the World, but this will incur a 5% surcharge (which is what I will be charged by PayPal).

Please remember it is your responsibility to organise your own travel insurance to cover medical treatment while away.

NB: Cancellation charges
These charges are based on how many days before your booked departure we receive your cancellation notice. These charges are a percentage of the cost of your booking, but do not include Security Deposits* paid.

* If the Security Deposit of £150 has been paid – this is refunded in full – no matter how much notice is given for cancellation.

Reservations for 3 weeks will qualify for a 50% reduction on the 3rd week.

Reservations in excess of 3 weeks will qualify for a Long Let Rate, but will not include linen / towel changes mid-term.

Changeover days are flexible to enable to to chose the best rate for your flights.

The rates quoted are for one week, but it is possible to extend your holiday by 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 days to fit in with flights - I will work out a rate for you - just ask me.

The Rental Rates include the following:-

* Air Conditioning - there are units in all 3 bedrooms and the Lounge area.

* Linen and Towels (if staying for longer than one week, linen and towels are changed mid-term)

* Welcome Pack - tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, eggs, water and orange juice (enough for

breakfast until you can get to the shops).

* Electricity, Water, etc. are all included - there is nothing else to pay

There are no extra charges for CHRISTMAS, NEW YEAR, EASTER or HALF TERM HOLIDAYS - the rates for these periods are as per the Tarif

It is cheaper to Holiday in Northern Cyrpus for the whole Winter than pay for central Heating in a cooler climate.

With over 325 days sunshine a year and daytime temperatures in the 70s on most days during the Winter months, North Cyprus is a great choice for Winter Sunshine and don't forget if booking for 3 weeks your 3rd week is half price. The price includes your electricity, water, etc.
