"A wonderful 2 weeks"

We were late booking, and after lots of wasted googling, we were lucky to stumble upon a cancellation for the 2 weeks we wanted at Las Chaumas. The situation of the cottage is beautiful, sitting above… More

"Secluded Oasis in a Great Area"

We stayed at this villa during a 'revisit' of the Dordoyne region after 5 years away. We had enjoyed Payzac previously but this had changed enormously due to the recession with many houses … More

"A peaceful retreat"

If you want peace and quiet then this is the place set on a hillside with lovely views across the countryside down to the river running at the bottom of the garden.

You can see the accommodation in the pictures and it is every bit as good as it looks.

The village of Payzac only a short walk and the beach park at Rouffiac a short drive this is a great place for families to spend the day with boating, canoeing and skiing.

The town of Pompadour is not far away and is great for its markets and restaurants there is also horse riding just the other side of Pompadour where the people were very friendly and my daughter enjoyed some hacking cross country and along the lovely country lanes and was very reasonably priced about 20 euros for an hour and a half. The race course is a must place to visit on race day.

Great place to stay.

"Peace & quiet with the whole of the Dordogne on your doorstep"

If you want to get away from it all, but still be near to what's going on in the Dordogne area, this place is hard to beat. Real tranquil setting in a modern recently built cottage - very roomy and has everything you need, including internet access and an outdoor pool - it's a portable pool but wonderful to cool down in on the hot days. Gordon who owns the property is just next door in the big farmhouse - he is a Brit who moved out a few years back and loves the place so much he has settled here, and you can see why. If you need to know anything or need any help he is your first stop. We will definitely be back - can't wait to go back to Segur le Chateau and Pompadour and meet the locals - they still have that way of life that we used to have - based on respect for others, no matter what age they are. Definitely the most chilled out placvce we have come across, we hope you like it too.
