Situated in the heart of the beautiful perigord vert region of the Dordogne ,Les chaumes is a beautiful pine lodge, the interior has been furnished to a high standard , double glazed and equipped with shutters on all windows it keeps the interior cool in the summer months whilst the wood burning fire keeps it warm for those cooler nights.
The chateaux at Jumilac le Grand and Hautefort are two of the finest in the region and the prehistoric caves at Lascaux are within easy driving distance .Ruffiac beach with its water sports, bar and restaurant ,are also very popular .Nearby Perigueux offers all the shops and restaurants you would expect of a diverse french town.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region

We are situated in an ideal area situated on the borders of the Haute Vienne and the Correze yet set in the Dordogne .Sarlat, Brantome, Nontron are full of history and have lovely markets Follow the route that Richard the Lionheart took. through some of the prettiest parts of France .You will find that all the villages in the area have markets which are well worth a visit .Thiiviers is the regions agricultural centre and if you love foie gras then the museum there is worth a visit. Montignac is certainly worth visiting take a stroll along the river,afterwards stop for lunch at one of the riverside cafes,there are plenty of activities locally to keep the children occupied

Lanouaille / Payzac area

Payzac is less than 5 minutes and offers all the basic amenities a good restaurant supermarket, baker and butcher whilst Lanouaille is only 1mile away this is a lot larger than payzac but also offers bars, chemist ,bank ,bakers and butchers .fetes and a local market are also here on a regular basis.
Tennis courts can be found at st.yrieix la perche Pompadour is the national centre for horses and offers show jumping and dressage to lights and music as well as a superb race track

How to get there

Budget airlines Ryanair and Flybe fly to Limoges and Bergerac from most uk airports, and there is a good choice of car hire companies on arrival,Hertz,and Europcar are just two. Within easy driving distance of the channel ports and eurotunnel,

The accommodation is perfect for a couple wanting a romantic break and is totally sepaerate from the owners house,incorporating a new above ground pool, Les Chaumes is new to the rental market this year and we think the interior which includes satellite t.v will be all you would hope to find, as well as a warm welcome from us

Private barbecue facilities over looking our large pond where you can often see the fish jump or watch the red deer feed , stoll around the 13 acres of woodland and meadows, horse riding and fishing are nearby and sun loungers can be used to laze and soak up the sun by the pool.
